What's Next For the Series?
Hehe, I know I know...it's bizarre to be asking this question when SA just came out, but I was just curious. I heard that SA was the last installment to the GTA series. But, if it's not, then I was just wondering what could be next. I know some people contemplate about an online game, but let's say if Rockstar wasn't planning an online game, where do you guys think they should make the next location? I mean, they've already covered the major cities/areas...and I feel like they should stick to the US in order to continue the storyline (with all the cameos and all). Also, what era would this take place?
Personally, if the storyline could be connected somehow, I wouldn't mind a non-US location with maybe an Asian or Hispanic character. That'd be cool.

hehe, this kind of thread was made when VC was just released so no worries we got to have our opinions on the next one, I would say they have to do a GTA in the most famous or popular city, New York, do it like the way the getaway did it with London but still cartoon looking as GTA has always been, hopefully it will be released on the playstation 3 so the system can handle the vast environment and really good graphics, I don’t know what they can add new to it just improve the whole things, online I don’t know would it work?
And if San Andreas is the last in the instalments that would be a bugger, lol.

I'll be really sad if SA is the final installment coz R* is on a roll with the GTA series ever since GTA3. I've played all of them ever since 1 and i t would be really dissapointing if they stopped. The location is going to be a tough one to think bout, they could make up some made up place and add in a bucnh of things from around where ever but that would be pushing it a lil. I think an asian character would be really cool. What bout a GTA in the asian area's like Japan and China..and so on. That could work. anyway just a thought.

Well, story-wise the possibilities are endless and i'm sure they can get something out that's just as good... Otherwise, my guess on a GTA4 will be that it is simply a better looking game. Graphics wise, the series needs an overhaul. New areas of Eye-Candy are just over the horizon (like, one week over the horizon), when games are going to start shipping with realistic and dynamic facial expressions, software shaders (think textures that are nearing the stuff in Pixar films), massively complex lighting, dynamic shadows and all the rest of it.
Beyond that... well, It seems that San Andreas put in a hell of a lot of new features, which makes it hard to top really. The only new thing I could imagine is the use of realistic physics. That seems to be very much in vogue right now... That and a new approach to AI, where entities on screen are a lot more random in their actions and interact with the environment a lot more. The only problem with all this, is that GTA's appeal at the moment is it's doing a lot of things that aren't available elsewhere - these things are very popular. Yet, I'm sure they'll come up with something - never underestimate what new designs are waiting around the corner. If we could think them up just like that, they'd already be in every game that's due soon. An online GTA doesn't sound like that good an idea to me... it doesn't really make sense... However, putting the ability to steal cars into other types of MMO game would be a good idea.

Graphics, AI and weapons they could all improve to life like, the AI is so poor is San Andreas I can't stand having a gang to hep me as there useless.
Weapon physics are always the in GTA make them fire and act differently. Graphics also need a bump up as San Andrea’s didn’t bother to improve them.

Well, I don't know if GTA4 would take place again in New York City...after all, GTA3's location was based off of New York.

The location, if it were going to be in an Asian country, would probably be difficult. Since the series usually blends major cultures together, it would be difficult if the game only took place in Korea, for example (I know there are Americans, Europeans, etc. but technically, these other locations are not as diverse as the US). I think it'd be cool for the next game to take place in the UK. Just a thought. Quote:

While playing GTAA listen to the radio, it may tell about the next game. In Vice City if you listen BJ Smith tells about a game he played against San Andreas.

I think the big hint no one got is that GTA 1 is, Liberty city, Vice city and san andreas, R* have done all 3 on the ps2 I doubt there will be any more.
Changing the character in all 3 was annoying, I would like to have Vice city 2, see how Tommy's getting on.

in my opinion for the next game:
They have the newest city with its story line, but incorporate all the other cities from the previous games, to go with the story. or have it to where u can fly "across" the country in a plane. say u have liberty city: u fly out of the airport there- it allows u to fly either way- lets u fly for about 5 minutes towards the other cities, but has a load screen that could say(a few hours later) and allows anothe rfive minute flight to the other airports. |

Maybe you'll have to go for worlddomination in the next one, I think they'll just make it extremely bigger once again...

I want a previous character to be played in GTA 5, Tommy or CJ preferable even both of them in the game, so we don’t have to back track there whole past again and get to know what’s what.

They Did That Twice In Gta1 And Gta3 I Heard They Were Doing A Brand New Gta On The Psp When It Comes Out(can't Wait For It!).they Got A Gta Out For Gba Called Gta Advanced. It Looks Just Like The First Two. I Think Everyone Hates On The First 2 And London 1969 Too Much. They Were Good For There Time But Even I Don't Understand The Whole Top Looking Down Camera Angle.
