Trinity Blood
so I heard about this anime, produced by Gonzo and I jumped on it
Gonzo was the team behind Hellsing and I hoped that luckily, they would bring something like it to Trinity Blood well, yes they did indeed Trinity Blood is set during time after the apocolypse where, after blwoing eachother to bits, human kind is facing off against invaders- Vampires. The last hope is the governing body of the human land, the Vatican in Rome....which is ran by a young pope and his brother and sister advisors. The Vatican is aided in fighting the legion of vampires by a creature of their own, called a Krusnik. Aided by a gunslinger and another thing not mentioned yet, the Krusnik is badass. Not going to tell you who it is or what exactly a Krusnik is, but the first episode alone is slick nice animation mixed with the cg gonzo dabbles with in their animes, it definately is a step up from some of the malformed characters in Hellsing, and I consider it an improvement. Hellsing had its own style and so does Trinity Blood though the similarities are apparent. Music is good and of course the story is packed with religious jargon that seems to fit. I felt Hellsing lost out a bit because the ending story kept twirling on itself and by the end, I didnt understand much of what happened. Trinity Blood, I hope, will not take the same path. the first ep is enough to get anyone hooked though definately a 9/10 |

Yeah I've had the pleasure of seeing this anime also and I would agree with you on every point. Too me the characters seem much warmer and have quite a bit more personality to them. Which I absolutely adore. Good action sequences and some really well thought out story plots. It definately gets my seal of approval as one of the better Vampire animes out there. Check it out!!!

I would agree with you guys....the first episode was nice...I especially like Abel's little transformation (looks a little like Alucard from "Castlevania" game, ne? )...
...however, after watching episode 3, I was just kinda like "Hmm..." and I seem to have lost interest a little. Episode 1 leaves you off with a cliffhanger, which you think Episode 2 would cover...but um...when Episode 2 airs, it's like "Oh hey, Abel and Jessica got out of that situation all nice and peachy" and bam, we're introduced to that Spoiler: show Plus, Abel Nightroad is a cross between Vash the Stampede and Alucard (from Hellsing). Of course, I can't really diss the guy off because, technically, Trinity Blood is considered "first" since it started off as novels, then a manga, and now an anime. Anyway, I'll have to see more of the series to see if it holds my interest a bit more...the manga might intrigue me more though.

But yes, this series was originally novels written by Yoshida, Sunao and then the manga was adapted created by Kujou, Kiyo under Asuka Comics(part of Kadokawa publishing). The anime's character designs are under a guy named Shibamoto, THORES (jaw-droppingly beautiful art, BTW). Yoshida died on July 15 of last year from a disease, two weeks after the news of the production of the anime series.
