Hmm.....which version are you talking about, Asylum? The original movie or the recent one? If you're talking about the 1984/85 version, I would have to disagree with you. The original Vampire Hunter D was so fresh and unique, with its dark storyline and unique and mysterious main character. While the graphics may not be as great as the anime of today, it's still a pure classic and no anime fan should be without seeing it at least once. If you're talking about the newer version, Bloodlust, I would have to agree with you. I didn't like the new movie, due to the fact that they didn't have it subbed at all and the story was not quite as good as I expected. The story should've and could've been stronger in some points and longer. The graphics and characters were totally terrific; I really enjoyed them. But, I would say, brush up on the storyline and add the subbing and it would be a little better. The dub was good, but for the ones who have been used to subs for quite sometime, it kinda feels weird to hear it in English.

Frozen: That's a lot of anime that you've seen. I'm surprised you've seen Sukeban Deka! I really liked that anime, even if it's so short. Hellsing kicks-a$$. Though you say you are anime ignorant, you have seen quite a few of the popular ones, which is good for any anime starters or fans. It just takes time to find the animes that suit your liking, but I'm pretty sure that you'll be able to see more once they get licensed and goes out for rental. As always, Frozen and anyone else who would like to know more about animes, please feel free to ask and we'll try to help out.

Meryl, the reason that the dubbed version was so good was because it was made IN english, the Japanese had to watch it in english WITH japanese subtitles...perhaps thats why the dubs were a bit better than usual

I knew that the movie was dubbed and the Japanese had to watch it with Japanese subtitles. What I meant was that while the dub was good, I wish they had a Japanese track, because I've been sorta used to the Japanese language for a while and when I heard English in the movie, it just seemed kinda weird. I wanted a Japanese track so badly.....when the Japanese version of the movie came out (before the US), I bought the DVD 'cause I thought there was Japanese voices, since there was English subtitles....but when I got it, it was still in English with English subtitles and I was like Now, I have two copies of the movie.

Yes, I saw Sukeban Deka a while ago and I really liked it, although it's quite classical by now. A little stupid that Yo-yo weapon but cool anyways. It was the first anime I saw that had kind of a strong plot (the fact they drugged that cute girl and then killed her impacted me)

A good list of animes you've seen, REChick14. Even though you put "weird" next to Tottoko Hamutaro (Hamtaro), I think it's a very cute anime! I especially like that little hamster with the guitar....I don't know his name because I've only seen 1 episode, but I think he's very cute.
