That sound kinda cool. Lets continue with people putting up ideas, and then we'll elect someone to take all of our ideas and turning it into one world.

I like Mourdor's idea. I think we should take his idea and put floating fortresses in it like Ziabach in Escaflowne. And the advanced Machanical culture could be using something like the Guymelefs in the series.

And we need dragons! You can't have an RPG without dragons. They are the only things that seem to bring both good and evil forces together for one cause. But usually when it's over they become enimies again.

And we need more human like species running around. We got Humans and Elves, that's not enough.

Those are my suggestions. Now someone add up more ideas and we'll later put all of them together and create an awesome setting for our story.

A dragon found by Mourdor when it was a baby dragon. Starflare has grown attached to Mourdor over the past 100 years. Starflare will attack without warning at people who upset Mourdor. Being a young dragon, his wisdom is still low, so his magic is weak. He only has a spell that drains the target's strength and gives it to Starflare.





CC, let the people be what the want to be. If no one is a monster-like creature (i.e. Minotaur, Centaur) we can fit them in the story.[/COLOR]

I just realized that I don't have a name.

Name: Rasper
Age: 762 (23 years old in appearence)
Race: Elf
Personality: Never serious, Cocky, Angerd easily, very hyper, very prejudice when it comes to humans, only cares for fellow elves, and will always stand up for his own kind, no matter who it is.
Ability: Fly, vanish and reapear in different locations, very crafty sourcoror. And good con artist.
Weapon: Double sided sword.
History: Greated by a powerful wizard named Aku Shigami who was killed by his older brother (No name yet). He has three older brothers (No names yet) who were originally created to serve Aku Shigami, but they turned againsed him and destroyed him, so that they could be free. Rasper has never met his brothers, but knows that they are on this planet somewhere. He has never seen a woman before, nor anyone else for that matter, because he's spent all of his life in space serving his father. Most of the time he was locked up in a huge dome that surrounded a small moon, where he lived all alone, an was only accompanied by another servant who would bring him food, but would never speak to him. When his brothers killed his creator, the dome dissapeared and he was free, not knowing what happened. When he was told by one of the servants that his creator/ father was killed by his brothers and that they went to (Whatever place this story takes place in), he decided that he would go too, to try to find them and meet them for the first time.

My character is totally unfamiliar with this world and has no family. He was met by a small clan of Elves(all male) and was taken into their home where he lived for ten years. He thought of them as family considering that he was created in the form of an elf. He learned of the human culture and all about this world from them and was taught to believa that all humans were evil and not to be trusted. After ten years he left his new family and went off to search for his brothers who so far he has heard nothing of yet.

That is where my character is at the moment.

I think the FFVI-style setting is cool, because it gives us the possibility to mix different elements together. Dragons can be added too.
We also need something like a general storyline: from this point all characters can start their stories. Something like a quest that involves more or less all those who want to partecipate.

About joining: I think other people can join later, if everything's been explained in this thread. So there will be the possibility for others to know the basis of the game without forcing others to stop the story to explain it again.

Here is an idea for the beginning of the RPG.

The world of many cultures have been at war for some time. Advanced civilations have created gunpowder and iron to make mechanical monsters abd soldiers. Others are behind the times, using the powerful magic and swords. The war has been at a standstill for some time now, and it looks to stay that way. The Elves choose to stay withdrawn from the war, fearing it would bring destruction and terror to their people. Humans are split between the sides. Families are turning against each other.

Each side has a sizable army, consisting of mainly humans and minotaurs. A few clerics and wizards have been summoned to counter the machines. The dragons have stayed hidden from the people. Dragons, being the chief deities of the world, are also at war with each other. Their actions are vastly manipulating the war. White against Black, Red against Blue, Green against Yellow, Gold against Silver. Many spirits have been getting restless as well. The war is disrupting their eternal sleep and have come to put in end to it. Many people are hired as mercenaries to fight for each side.

His dragon race has the benefit of life after death and years have taken it's toll. After dying, Zealus cannot take shape unless he shares a host body with someone. Only one person can find him to utilize his power.

Weapon: Can conjur any weapon made by man and give it to his host. Can only personally use the weapon of his ancestors-a triple bladed scimitar with his family crest.

I think your idea is a very cool one Mourdor!
It's good because there's palce for both modern and fantasy characters in it.
It fits perfectly.

Otherwise, choosing a typical fantasy setting and storyline, the ones who picked different characters would find not easy to get involved into the story.

Here is how to do it:

Max HP= Level X 25
Max Mana= Level X 10 (add 2% if your character is female)
STR= Level X 3 (add 3% if human)
STA= Level X 3
AGI= Level X 2.5 (add 5% if elf)
DEX= Level X 2
INT= Level X 2 (add 1% if caster)


Armor and weapons will of course change your stats. No items that will permanently change stats (Power Source, etc.).


Levels:

To figure amount of exp you earned:
Level of opponent DEFEATED X 50
Then subtract amount of HP you lost.
i.e. You defeated a LV 8 and lost 38 HP.
8 X 50=400 ====> 400-38=362

If you decide to kill a player character: You get doubled EXP


You level after gaining:
Your level X 150



Battles:
Your STR X 5 - Opponents STA X 4

i.e.- Your STR is 35 and your opponents STA is 30
35 X 5= 175
30 X 4= 120
175-120= 55 damage

Miss%= Opponents AGI/ Your DEX
This means you'll have a harder time hitting a higher level opponent than a weaker enemy.

I'm kind of confused about leveling up. So for example, if I'm at Level 1, then it would be 1 x 150 which would equal the set amount of exp that I need to gain another level, correct?

And if the opponents AGI is higher than my DEX, than I have no chance of hitting him until I level up my stats, right?

What if, at a rare occurence, that during battle, both of the characters would have equal stats. Like my STR- 4 X 5=20 and the opponents STA- 5 x 4=20. Then should it be called a draw and no one gets experience, since damage done would be 0?

What would happen if my opponents STA is higher than my STR even after the multiplication formula? Would the formula be vice-versa?

If we do add stat-changing armor and weapons, do we just add them on after doing the formula? (like armor= +5 STR, so if my level is two, then it'd be 6+5) NOTE: This formula not applying to human species.

When adding special "species bonuses", do we take the percentage from the set number (i.e. Level x 3) then add it? Or do we take it from another number?

One more question, would everyone start out as Level 1?

Yes, You need 150 to become LV 2. You need 300 (2 X 150) to go to LV 3. We can lower it if need be.


Second Question:
i.e. Your DEX=8 and the Opponent's AGI=10
8/10 = .8 = 80%
This character would have a 80% hit rate.

I'll change it to make it easier. Let's say you got an 80%, now you take the damage done (i.e. 100)

80% of 100 is 80 damage

The hit rate is used to increase or decrease damage.

Your DEX is 20 and Opponent's AGI is 10

20/10= 2 = 200% Damage is doubled


Third Question: Correct. The attack and defense are equal. So no damage done and battle will be declared a draw. If you don't like, get better equipment and battle again.


Fourth Questioname as above

Your STR=5 and Opponent's STA is 10
5X5 is 25 and 10X4=40
25-40=-15
Since you can't deal negative damage, no damage is done. You cannot get hurt by YOUR attack, only others.


Fifth Question:Exactly


Sixth Question:After doing the adding and multipling, take the final number, find the percent of that, add it on

LV1 human character's STR
1X3=3
3% of 3 isn't a point, no add on
This prevents lower leveled characters being too strong. The higher the level, the more it effects it.


Seventh question: Yes, all will start at one.
