Good point...
Better I post something happier then, just in case I start thinking I am Ian Curtis o__O; I'll be your Mirror by The Velvet Underground & Nico I'll be your mirror Reflect what you are, in case you don't know I'll be the wind, the rain and the sunset The light on your door to show that you're home When you think the night has seen your mind That inside you're twisted and unkind Let me stand to show that you are blind Please put down your hands 'Cause I see you I find it hard to believe you don't know The beauty you are But if you don't let me be your eyes A hand in your darkness, so you won't be afraid When you think the night has seen your mind That inside you're twisted and unkind Let me stand to show that you are blind Please put down your hands 'Cause I see you I'll be your mirror |

Sadly, I don't know very well the Smashing Pumpkins. I've only heard a couple of albums, and maybe not with enough attention
This is Love Life by Pulp (copied and pasted from official Pulp site: I'm too lazy to actually write the whole thing) Here comes your bedtime story: Mum & Dad have sentenced you to life. Don't think twice; it's the only reason I'm alive. I feel alright as long as I don't forget to breathe. Breathe in, breathe in, breathe out. Look at all these buildings & houses: I love my life. I love my life. Hey now, slow down a minute. Take my arms & fill them full of life. Don't think twice. Does it ease the pain of being alive? Or is it why - why you keep nodding out on me? Breathe in, breathe in, breathe out. Another day, another major disaster : I love my life. I love my life. You got a problem. I lost my keys when I stayed at your place. On the floor of your living room, you made the scene but it'll never get shown on TV. So tonight prepare to kiss goodbye to my lovelife. So get this right- I love my life; it's the only reason I'm alive. It's mine, all mine - as long as I don't forget to breathe. Breathe in, breathe in, breathe out. Corny I know, but you had better believe it: I love my life. I love my life. I love my life. God, how I love my life. That's right: you've got to fight to the death for the right to live your life. Alright: I'm gonna fight to the death 'til they give me back my life. That's right: you're in the land of the living but there's so few signs of life. Alright. Breathe in. Breathe out. Breathe out. I wanted to brighten the atmosphere of this thread a bit, but I think with no much success |

I used to like Pulp a lot years ago, but for some reason I couldn't get into their lyrics... There's something about them that bothers me, but I still like their music.

Patchwork
I know it's wrong I know it's selfish It's such a short life With so little time You know this pattern Patchwork of any direction Cobbled together In odd shape and size Take my hand, we'll walk through this together But my hand gets sweaty You somehow slip away Try to call you, but I don't call too loud, Try to love, and never look that hard 'Cause this blue's a swirling ocean The green: the ambition The red is the guilt There's a lot of red I know it's wrong I know it's selfish It's such a short life So little time Try to call you, but I don't call too loud, Try to love, and never look that hard The yellow is my sunshine Comes out on odd occasion Barely enough to keep you around Tindersticks *looking for old Tindersticks album* I got up this morning with this song in mind. Last time I was listening to it was... hmmm... 3 years ago? Or when? It's been ages. It's a bittersweet naïve song, which is something that fits my mood today. |

Asleep - the smiths again
Sing me to sleep Sing me to sleep I'm tired and I I want to go to bed Sing me to sleep Sing me to sleep And then leave me alone Don't try to wake me in the morning 'Cause I will be gone Don't feel bad for me I want you to know Deep in the cell of my heart I will feel so glad to go Sing me to sleep Sing me to sleep I don't want to wake up On my own anymore Sing to me Sing to me I don't want to wake up On my own anymore Don't feel bad for me I want you to know Deep in the cell of my heart I really want to go There is another world There is a better world Well, there must be Bye ... Sadly, this is not as good in text-only form as it is with music too. I must say it. If you only read the text, it looks like another weepy but somewhat silly song. First time I had the chance to listen to it, it was on vinyl support. The vinyl wasn't mine, so later I recorded a tape and listened to it at home. And god... the sound of it was heartbreaking... like staring at dusty photos in a cold winter day. Years later I got a cd of "The World Won't Listen" (title of the album which contains this song) and, even if it still sounded beautiful, I assure it was not the same thing at all. The atmosphere is ruined by the clean sound of the cd. This is one of the songs you could never like on cd as you could on vinyl. The message is clear: go and buy a vinyl of this album because it is great ;_; |

This is a beautiful song by Chris Cornell. It's about "seeking a friend for the end of the world." There's so much that can mean.
I think he wrote it regarding when he met his wife and it turns into a song about searching for a Soulmate... It makes me cry inside every time cuz it hits so close to my heart. Preaching the End of the World Music and Words by Chris Cornell Hello, I know there's someone out there who can understand And who's feeling the same way as me I'm twenty-four and I've got everything to live for But I know now that it wasn't meant to be 'Cause all has been lost and all has been won And there's nothing left for us to save But now I know that I don't want to be alone today So if you find that you've been feeling just the same Call me now it's alright It's just the end of the world You need a friend in the world 'Cause you can't hide So call and I'll get right back If your intentions are pure I'm seeking a friend for the end of the world I've got a photograph I'll send it off today And you will see that I am perfectly sane Not for a lifetime or forever and a day 'Cause we know now that just won't be the case There will be no commitment and no confessions And no little secrets to keep No little children or houses with roses just the end of the world and me 'Cause all has been gone and all has been done And there's nothing left for us to say But we could be together as they blow it all away And we can share in every moment as it breaks Call me now it's alright It's just the end of the world You need a friend in the world 'Cause you can't hide So call and I'll get right back If your intentions are pure I'm seeking a friend for the end of the world. _RED_ stuff

radiohead - fake plastic trees
her green plastic watering-can for her fake chinese rubberplant in the fake plastic earth that she bought from a rubber man in a town full of rubber plans to get rid of itself it wears her out she lives with a broken man a cracked polystyrene man who just crumbles and burns he used to do surgery for girls in the eighties but gravity always wins and it wears him out she looks like the real thing she tastes like the real thing my fake plastic love but i can't help the feeling i could blow through the ceiling if i just turn and run and it wears me out if i could be who you wanted and if i could be who you wanted all the time, all the time * because it was the soundtrack (at radiohead last night) to one of the most beautiful moments of my life, and with the song being played live and everything it was nearly too much for me ...
