just incase any of u heard earlier about the new matrix movies that where coming out where planning to be scrapped because of the high cost, well we have some excellent news(Quote from www.comingsoon.net)

Generous actor Keanu Reeves has sacrificed a massive $38 million to prevent the two new Matrix films being scrapped.

The Speed hunk gave up his claim to a cut of the films' ticket sales when producers began fearing the box office would not cover the costs of making the special effects-laden flicks.

The gesture is one of the most generous ever in Hollywood and has stunned studio bosses.

A Warner Brothers insider says, "The special effects in the new movie are beyond belief - but hugely expensive."

"There was a real danger the projects would be scrapped until Keanu offered to sign away his cut. He has kissed goodbye to a huge sum of money."

Thank god someone actually is about art and creativity still. Some people only care about money, and i am glad to see that mr. Reeves is not one of them. I would cry and lock myself inside of my room for weeks! Oh well, i will be in line may 13th for Reloaded... Already planning on the IMAX experience

You think he doesn't care about money? Yea right. He did that because the profit from those movies is going to be mostrous. He did it for money.

Plus...the Matrix had a sub-par storyline with awesome special effects. I might still see it with a friend.

Well that is pretty tight...i didnt know anything about them having a debt but for him to do that..is something i dont think myself would do ... but those movies are going to be soo tight ..its gonna Be awesome

Definatly a good move on Keanu's part, I definatly think higher of him after hearing that, awesome news. Although the movies were allready made so even if I werent being paid as much id want them to be seen sence i allready worked on them. Id forfit the money too but thier are certainly some more greedy actors who wouldn't have.

Of course he cares about money, I meant, he was willing to take a cut and finish the film. Just like others he will see huge profits from the films, but the initial installment will be lower... Who cares really, i just wanna see it

What do you mean sub-par storyline?? I thought it was a good story. Not the greatest, but a lot more original than most "hollywood" movies. I guess i am just a big fan for special effects and nohting more

Its just that guy did in StarWars, who didn't get paid for his role, I cant remember his name. But he said he should get some percent out of the profit, and till now he is living a happy life.

Neways, Keanu is amazing, I think hes a great actor and a really cool one too....... I loved his acting and character in The Matrix, and this is the MOST HIGHLY ANITCIPATED MOVIE for me.

I am going crazy for this movie, and as well for the Game "Enter The Matrix". Written and Directed by the Same Wackouski Brothers. Cool, eh!

By the way heres more about Animatrix..... The first installment in the series, The Second Renaissance: Part I, from director Mahiro Maeda and Tokyo's Studio 4°C, will be available for download at the official site on Tuesday, February 4th. The story is billed as "an epic guided tour of the Zion archives and the history of the Matrix." The Second Renaissance: Part II is expected online some time in May.!

Expect a DVD release of the Animatrix in June.

actually he did it because he does not care about the money, he gave away his WHOLE pay to keeping this movie alive!!!!!!

Hmm I think the Matrix's storyline is pretty good, perhaps you just dont like Sci-Fi type thrillers Sazuki. The Matrix was downright awesome and I cant wait for the next, ill admit they put a big emphasis on special effects (Mostly CGI stuff) but whats wrong with that, more effects means more ACTION and I likes my action !

I also think it was a greaqt move on Keanu's part because the fans of the Matrix would be very mad if the movies didn't come out after hearing about them for almost a year.
