Is Malboro beatable? I mean everytime I it pops up it always get 1st strike, and do Bad Breath which is annoying to the fullest.

Yes it's possible... In fact, My recollection is that you want to fight and defeat it to get Malboro tentacles so that you can get Doomtrain. (I could never stand playing the card-game long enough to get enough Malboro cards!). However, you'll need to go prepared for this kind of thing. It is probably possible to speed up your characters by Junctioning Haste or a similarly beneficial Magic to a character's speed stat. Then you'd be able to get in the first time (and if you hit big with). You can also get your GFs to learn a Junctionable ability to prevent pre-emptive strikes or even guarantee that you often get first strikes yourself.... And beyond that, there a probably junctions (and Items? I can't remember...) that can stop some, if not all of the Status Ailments that Bad Breath inflicts on you.
TBH it's been a while... Edit: Quote:

Yes... I am after the tentacles. Playing cards take too long, and I don't seem to have the patience for it. Hmm... thanks for the explanation. I needed that.

Yeah, what I did was junction the "Initiative" ability so I could get a "First-Strike" in. But, it doesn't matter a lot of times because the annoying thing always wins in the end. Good luck with these pests, you're gonna need it.

More questions. Okay, so I just beat 2 Malboro's. (YES!!!) But I did a stupid move when I was in need of some status magics. (I believe it was Berserk and Confuse) And now I don't have enough steel pipes for doomtrain. Can I mug any of the monsters here in Esthar? (sp?) Or would I have to go back and play cards? (Probably the latter eh?)
I'm on disc 3 btw.

I think the only monster that you encounter in the esthar arc will be a GIM47N, apparently in the City itself, probably when Lunatic Pandora is on the move. Given the timelimit in that section, it may simply be easier to wait for when you get pocession of the Ragnarok, which is only a short time after IIRC

Kinda figured that, but I did manage to get the steel pipes. Got it by playing cards. Took me a while to figure out that you can get steel pipes from the Elastoid card. Now I just need the remedy+. I don't even have the Med Dat thing yet, and I take it that there's no other way in getting it either?
Do I have to be in tear's point to acquire doomtrain? Or is it like Diablos, where I can carry the lamb (ring) anywhere, and use it?

it's an inventory item, you have to use it when you've got all the other bits. Nothing will happen before you have them.

Been a while since I've had questions about this game.. Well really, I have been having questions, but most of them were answered while playing along with the game.
In any case, I don't know if any of you play the triple triad card game (which absolutely sucks, but addicting at the same time ) but I keep encountering some smidget problems. It's mainly my lack of knowledge about the dumb card game. I know alot about it, but I don't know much... If that makes any sense at all lol. One of my hands on disc one: Ifrit, Zell, Diablos... 2 random cards that I can't remember. I was up first and I played Ifrit in the bottom right hand corner. I start like this all the time mainly for being cautious, but the guy played Quistis card right above my Ifrit, and it flipped it... Another incident.. disc 2: Ifrit, Ultima Weapon, Catebl..something, Sacred, Rinoa. I was playing Xu btw. Again I started off with the same move. Ifrit on the bottom right. She drops Carbuncle right above it, and like the Quistis card, it flips Ifrit. And Ifrit can't flip those cards.... Yet his numbers are bigger. What am I missing here? I also found out when playing against Cid that the Quistis card can't make the Seifer card flip for some unknown reason. Cid normally started the game off with Seifer in the top left corner. And the Zell card can make both the Quistis and Ifrit card flip.... What the crap?
