Exclamation Superman Returns

This movie fulfilled my expectations, no better and no worse than I expected.

Definitely looks open to a sequel or series of movies.

What are your thoughts?

I enjoyed it very very much. I saw it with my dad and brother and we had a blast. I would recommend this movie to all of you.

Kevin Spacey did an awsome job as Lex Luthor, didn't he?

What were your favorite scenes?

Spoiler: show
Mine, when he saved the airplane, asked if everybody was ok and then said: "I hope that this experience does not keep you from flying. Statistics say that airplanes are still the safest way to travel" (then the hot hostess chick looks at him with an embarassed WTF look

And the chaingun / shot in the eye was fantastic.

I also loved how he used his speed, flying ability and heat vision all at the same time to take the chunk of crystal / kryptonite out of the ocean.

And it was very dramatic and almost felt like crying when the doctors were trying to save his life but the needle bent and the electro pulse artifact got fried, how they tried everything but they could do nothing because of his invulnerability. It reminded me of the scene in Spiderman 2 when the people at the train see Spidey and say "it's just a kid"

And last but not least, it was very cute when he was looking at his sleeping son and reciting to him the same thing Jor-el had told him before.

Oh, by the way, Cyclops did a great job in this movie too I liked his character, he wasn't the typical ******* that is in between the "lovers" but an actualy pretty cool guy and a good man. Unfotunately, this kind of character is gotten out of the way by having him die.

Imdb says Singer is in negotiations for a sequel that will be out in 2009.

Anyway, the movie will be out in September around here. So I'll have to wait to give an opinion

Yes, I know, but these superheroes flicks are better if you watch them on a huge screen, with cinematic sound effects and all. Watching it at home on a mediocre quality file will spoil everything

Is the lead actor good? Because it's the main issue I have with this movie. I remember the old Superman's movies and Reeve was so him! The new actor seems just blah. Is he good?

I think he did an outstanding job. You could definitely tell the difference in personalities between Clark and Superman, I honestly don't remember the old Superman movies and the most recent image I have of Reeve is in Smallville as Dr. Swann, so that comparison wouldn't help.

But I can tell you that he plays Clark as a very nice and kinda quiet, slow at times guy, (not overly clumsy, stupid or anything like that) whereas Superman is Super-confident and loves to hear the crowd call his name
(not in a bragging way, but you'll notice)

Agreed. I was thrilled to see Spacey in the role of Lex. He's a class act. And the new superman guy (name?) He can actually act! He played a perfect bumbling Clark Kent. I was so happy! Also the re-use of the Williams score was a touch of genius. I really brought back the same feeling I had while watching the originals as a child.

GO SEE IT!
