Elfen Lied... bah!
I started watching this series because of the very good reviews. I wanted something different and thought "why not? seems good from what I read".
Six episodes... after six episodes I'm sick of this Elfen Lied. Am I the only one to find it dull and distasteful? Gore is ok, violence is ok. I'm not one of these persons who can't watch a show when it's too violent. I've enjoyed many horror series which contained extreme violence. But mixing Chobits' premises with gratuitous nudity and limbs flying everywhere is just... silly. And boring. I don't know if later it'll get better, but considering it's 13 episodes, the fact I'm sick of it after the first half means that even if it gets better, in my eyes won't be enough to be saved. |

I also heard it was good. I'm still thinking about checking it out but I'm very skeptical about it. I was reading a review and it said it's one of those depression type shows. 1st thing that's going through my mind is what could cause so much depression. And then I see a picture with of a girl with a dog. There's where I'm being skeptical at. The dog. I refuse to watch any animes where animals get killed or hurt. Hell, I even hate seeing a dog wimpering next to it's dead owner. (How do I get through in life.....) So I have to ask now..... any animals being killed in it?

This series is weak. It's too superficial: all violence and cuteness are exaggerated to make it look more intense than other animes, but in fact they are misplaced, so I got impression it was a parody. I was surprised it has scores so high in almost every anime site.

I liked it for the tragedy aspect of the story and the violence, but other than that I didn't care for the characters at all.
