Thinking ahead (Next Gen possibilities)

Well it may be a bit early to start discussing the next gen systems but hey...im going to anyway. I heard a debate on G4 about how important backwards compatibility will be for the next batch of consoles. So what do you think. How important is backwards compatibilty to you for the next gen's ? And just for kicks ..if you could only have ONE of these features listed in the poll..wich would it be in your next gen system

DVD compatability... really, I should just go and buy a DVD player, but DVDs are pretty much the main thing i've used my PS2 for....
