Suicide
Yester day, October 6, 2002, my sisters friend, Megan, commited suicide. She shot herself in the forehead, instant death. In school today, they announced it over the intercom. They gave a little speech about there being no signs of outgoing sympthoms of suicidal activity. But thats a bold faced lie. She slit her wrists on several occasions, and after telling the guidance counselors of this, they failed to do anything. I swear if I was there, I woulda wen't up to them and ***** slapped them.

I'm sorry to hear about her, but this just proves how people don't take suicide seriously.
Someone tries to slit their wrists, and the counsulers don't do anything? Maybe you should go and beat the crap out of the guy for being an idiot.

thats a shameful, shameful waste... and its awful when this kind of thing happens. death is a horrid, horrid thing, but suicide is an indication of terrible inner pain, and the lack of action over her previous actions just make it worse...
I just hope that that poor girl has gone onto a better place, and is truely free of her suffering.

That is very sad. I don't think anyone really takes that sort of thing very seriously anymore, unless it happens to them in some sort of way. Then it all turns around, as people say "How could this have happened" "i never saw something like that comming" and it pisses me off when you see people say on the news that it was some kid who never had many friends and got picked on all his/her life. Then they get the idea. "hey, perhaps we shouldv'e laft the kid alone." "if i only knew i would've been nicer to her/him"
pisses me off! Those are the people i seriiously want to go up to and kick the sh*t out of. For causing all that pain to a person causing them to commit suicide. And then they still think of it as something that'll just pass by in like a week, and be forgotten. And it probally is by most. That just makes me sad to think of. I remember back in my freshman year, i almost killed myself off, but grabbed a bit of sanity and realised how stupid i was being and said to myself that it wont really solve anything and just make the only ones in your life that you truely do care avbout, sad as hell.

That's really bad and it's a shame to hear things like this one happening so often to people who just couldn't find in time the right helpful hand.

I'm so sorry... *hugs*
Whenever I see someone picking on someone else I tell them to quit it. I am the oldest (well a senior) at our school, so younger kids usually listen, and I'm hoping others are going to follow my example. It disgusts me when others have to stoop so low as to insult someone else to feel better about themselves. I'm getting off topic here, sorry. I just feel so horrible for your loss, no one should EVER have to go though those feelings and losses, ever. |

I've dealt with depression most my life. It's a shame that most people still don't care to understand mental illness and/or the suicidal. People tend to say they are cop-outs, but those are the people who have never been there and/or refuse to try to understand. Because of people's ignorance, I can believe those guidance counselors never did anything to help her or notified the proper people. It really is sad. All I can say is...If you're out there...and you suffer from mental illness and the pain that comes with it...you're not alone brothers and sisters...don't give up. In a world where it seems nobody understands...there's still always somewhere you can go to find somebody who will do they're best to try to understand...don't give up.
For those like your friend, Megan...rest in much deserved PEACE

I wanted to add something...I think there's a common misconception that people who commit suicide are mostly people who have been picked on or put down by their peers. This is not necassarily true. People suffer from depression for all kinds of reasons as do people who become suicidal become that way for all kinds of reasons.
Anyways...I think that's enough for now atleast. Maybe we should start a little support forum eh (before i get stabbed for suggesting a new forum i'm only kidding)
