Attack of the Groans
Lucas takes a heavy hit in this review. One thing that bothers me is the apparent overemphasis on the romance between Anakin and Padme Amidala.
Link: https://www.msnbc.com/news/750955.asp It would have been nice if Lucas never cast that blockhead Natalie Portman in the Star Wars universe. What a horrific blunder and stain on a wonderful cinematic legacy. My fear is that the romance will be overplayed as most reviews strongly suggest. No interest in seeing Hayden and Portman delivering unconvincing performances while frollicking in the grass

shame really... but i'm still gonna see it, mainly because I did actually enjoy Episode I, despite what everyone said about it. and another thing: has it been confirmed that the terrible tie-in games they're about to release suck, or is that just somthing safe for us to assume?

Popcorn is always more expensive than my damned cinema ticket so i never bother..
I usually substitute it for Sherbert dib-dabs or somthing equally cool ^_^ Anyways, my friend apparently had a big arguement with her bro about whether there was a "Darth insertnamehere" bad guy in this one... is there? (not including Anakin of course...) and does Darth mean "Dark Sith" or somthing

I saw it last night at 12:01 AM, and it is MOVIE OF THE YEAR! Everyone MUST see this. It's great! The best part of the movie is when Yoda fights. Everyone in the theatre was laughing and cheering and stuff. It was too sweet!

I still have to see it, and I'm probably going tomorrow night.
Some friends told me it's not that good, especially if you compare this one with the first three movies. I don't know what to say. I liked Episode I, and everyone said it was boring or silly, or not so great. The only thing I can say before going to see Episode II is that I don't like the new Anakin Skywalker. He looks too average to be the future Darth Vader IMO

He's an extremely good actor though. He portrays Anakin perfectly, and is able to make it very clear what he is feeling. Everything from the expressions on his face, to the way he says his lines. I was very impressed with his acting skills.

I agree with jeb: he's not bad to be Anakin, because in Episode II he's Anakin Skywalker, not Darth Vader, which is a completely different thing

Just got back from seeing it, and it is a truly outstanding movie. Reading that review I really want to find that old bag of flatulence and smack him upside his head so hard his grandchildren would feel it.
The only negative thing I can pick out about this movie is that it lags a little bit in the middle, where it focuses more heavily on simple plot-setup and romancing between Anakin and Padme. Hayden Christensen did a really good job portraying Anakin, very good actor. Ewan did a great job as always, and had some really funny lines. Oh.. One other semi-negative things. Some of 3-PO's lines, while they are funny, seem to be interjected to put humor into scenes where it doesn't really belong. *isn't going to post which scenes for spoiler reasons*

Not to mention that it was putting humor in the middle of a whole crapload of the good guys dying. Not clones of which there are thousands of, Jedi of which there were maybe a couple of hundred in the battle to begin with.
And yes, Obi's "Great job" line in the arena was hilarious. I was busting up.
