Castlevania is mainly a Action/Adventure game, but there are a few Castlevanias that have RPG elements.
Anyways, nice news. I don't mind if it was 2D or 3D. |

Allrighty then, only know the versions of the nes and the snes but they were all brilliant, kept me hooked from beginning till end ...I'll have a 2-d scroller with 3-d background and stunning visuals please!

I agree with the general consensus - too many classic games have been ruined by the move to a 3D world. The new Defender is one such example - nothing compares to the original.
And what I'm about to say will probably raise a few eyebrows... but.... I think Mario 64 and Mario Sunshine are terrible, terrible games. In comparison to the originals (more specifically the pinacle of the series, Super Mario World), they are ill conceived and just don't feel right (IMO naturally). I'm all for 3D graphics with 2D gameplay - I have no problem with that, in fact in most cases I prefer it. Take Einhander, R-Type Delta or Contra as examples. So I say, keep Castlevania 2D!!!! - S

I'd prefer the first option after hearing what everyone else has said.

Yes, I heard it was going to be in 3-D. To me, the Castlevania series is much better off 2-D...I really enjoyed Castlevania: SotN...too bad I couldn't finish it though.

I must say I'm disappointed that it's going to be 3D. People need to relize that 3D isn't always the way to go. On the other hand since it's being done by the man responsible for Symphony of the Night I can still have hope.
*Finally my 100th post and who's thread is it on none other than the person that made my cool sig. Thanks Vic
