All my life been po’
but it really don’t matter no mo’
cuz my electricity aint on
and my water faucet don’t flow, OH NO!
I roll outta my bed, water from the roof leaks on my dome
I’m sayin’ my shit so tore up, how exactly can I call it home?
I roam over to the mirror and practice my sickest voice
“Cough cough, hey boss what’s up? I really aint got a choice
I can’t come in, I’m sick” is the words I’m gonna say
hell if he aint caught on, his bad, it’s everyday
in my raggedy ass night shirt, take my ass down the hall
to use my neighbor’s phone, how else I’m gonna call?
This brotha aint got no cash, the government’s even on me
the bill collectors’ hasslin’, “He aint live here, this here is Bobby.”
Still go to my momma’s house once a week to do my laundry
at night I even here the rats chucklin’ it up
“That nigga, he aint shit”, “I heard he likes it up the butt!”
I WHAT?!... uh oh, oh... damn, not him again
the land lord again, oh Lord not him again
I dip out the back window down to the streets below
with some jacked up Fikes and some Ron-Johns apparel
my narrow, escape, every day I gotta make
so broke got candy on layaway, this here’s for money’s sake
can’t even afford to pay attention.... what? What was that?
Oh yea, my people, yal aint know!?
