Ok, here's a full-proof way of finding out if your game is screwed up: Start a new game and go to the Northpoint Mall and see if the clerk is in GASH. If he is, kill him, leave and return. If he's not back, or was never there in the first place, your game is messed up. As for the memory card thing, I don't know what to tell you. Maybe you should borrow a friend's copy to see if that's the case.
