Most games I've seen for the PSP are $49.99. In fact, the only games I haven't seen with that price tag are those dumped in the bins, which are either used or games that didn't sell well.

I think Sony made a good move by not rushing into the next gen, the ps2 hasn't even hit the 99$ sweet spot yet. Also ps2's are still selling rather well..and a good amount of quality software is still to come.

Yeah. I'm surprised to see that up until today PS2s are still selling. I've seen many more of these sold than either the X-Box or the Cube.
I'm going to get a handheld this month. Classes are starting and I want to have something to do instead of just sitting there bored to death.
I have not yet considered getting a PSP. It may be because of the PS2, since I had oh, so many problems with it. I don't want to go through that again. And oh, I guess it also has to do with the fact that a friend of mine had one and let me play. I was playing for a while and all of a sudden the button got jammed. Turns out I broke it. Omg. What crap.
