Well if you don't mind my saying, I don't think you exactly need an HDTV. Just a bigger SDTV since 13" is a little small. I can see most text fine on my 27' television and really only have to squint occasionally to see the text in Dead Rising.

Although by 2009 that big signal change will happen, making HDTV's the prominent television signal, making SDTV's obsolete. So it probably is better to save up for an HDTV. Since I bet by 2009 they'll be much cheaper since they do get cheaper every year.
