A Day In the Life 12/15/02
12 o' clock niggas, still out on the ave.
it's like, niggas livin' just to pocket some cash
it's like, this, passin' weed to our seeds
it's like, they don't understand, what they really need
on the real though, the flow uncomparable,
some ladies be hoes yo, just to bring money through the do'
while Joe Smoe out like that kid aint mine
denyin' the obvious when every single sign
pointin' at em, with alla dis shit combined
it's like, how you gonna say that kid aint yours, give him away? Come on yal
Get ya head togetha, the world is ours today.
But even knowin' this we give 'em up to this, life, destruction, landscapes and sights
so I write,
a sunrise, high, on a city knowin' nothin' of sleep
a place where nothin's safe, we shootin' each other on the creep
breakfast a rare commodity
'cuz money is more an oddity
than necessity, somethin' like God is testin' me
the blessings rainin' from the heavens,
born a new day for the graspin'
asprin, is how my words comin' it's now 11
7 days outta the week this life is how it is
you'd think the time of noon
would bring a new tune
but chaos and wars with torture still on the immenent loom...
zoom down the chronology,
aint no one stoppin' me
droppin' this knowledge, I be brighta than high beams
prayer keeps destitute afloat
but shit constantly rockin’ the boat
they choke on the beans & God knows cassarole at 6
and aint shit we doin' to fix
the situation, black white or Haitian
we all troubled by the same waters
be a starter and a finisher, 'cuz when the clock done a 360 spin
niggas back on the block and they at it again
but, with some mental strength and forceful words
we can break this horror ya heard?
A day in the life of a ghetto is never easy
