Everything you said is exactly what I would say. Shenmue, SoA, JGR, and Soul Calibur are basically the only games nowadays that I probably would play. And besides JSR:F, I bought the Xbox for Shenmue II.
Shenmue is one of the best games for the DC. No DC owners should be without this game....I love how you can do almost anything in there....going to the Tomato shop in the town and the harbor and purchasing those cassettes, then listening to the tunes...and what about the small casino? Nearly wasted my money on those slot machines.
The battles and combat are excellent, the graphics are just superb, the voice acting is terrific...everything about this game is so realistic...
Sadly...I heard that for the sequel, there will be no voice acting...there will only be text. I hope they decided to change it at the last minute.
