Ahh......the only thing I have to say is that they really should've stuck with "Revolution."

Yes, "wii" should sound like "we." I think it's because it goes by the Japanese spelling and pronounciation. Double i's in Japanese sound and spelling represents the extended sound of the "e" letter, especially that in the word "we."
Looking at the logo, I think Nintendo has put a hidden meaning behind it. Not only does it sound and represents "we" but the two i's look like people. You and me. If this is the case, very clever Nintendo.
