All I can say is if you have any weapons for either Tidus or Wakka that have Lightning strike you should equip those. Also, get their overdrives to full before the fight, use Wakka's first overdrive to try and get two or three of the yellow circles, use whatever of Tidus' averdrives you think is the best. Thunder magic wouldn't hurt either, if you can get some for either of the two.
