Kraft, you've hit the nail on the head there friend.

That's why I think M$ should be concentrating on trying to establish XBox as the second major console. They have to beat Nintendo so when they next generation of consoles arrive, gamers go into the shop and take both of them into consideration.

This will not happen unless XBox is established as a strong brand.

You also make a good point about Atari, SEGA et al - however there is one difference with SONY. They are an extremely well established Audio Visual brand and have managed to make the name 'PlayStation' synonymous with games consoles, much like they did with the 'Walkman'.

I hear young kids of 5 and 6 saying they want a 'PlayStation' when in actuality they simply mean a games console. That's what XBox has to try and achieve. It's what Nintendo had at one point, but somehow they lost it - but can SONY keep it? Only time will tell...
