yeah i'm pretty sure it would've sold equally well if there was no movie.

Have you even played the game dude ?. The game has some serious substance, the fact that it had movie content was just a bonus. This game could stand alone with ease, movie or no movie.

MIdnight Club 2 and Woverine's Revenge seem to be doing well...hmmm...

Btw, It's intersting to see the sales figures, but I hope that it doesn't influence people too many people to buy mainly only these games first or right now. There are many other's that are of similar type and other different genre's that if you feel compelled to check out, should do so, so that companies continue to make a wider variety of games. I was reading something on this whole issue somewhere...hmmm...where was that?
Anywayz, for example. Primal is a game with many huge flaws, but it hasn't stopped it from entertaining me in between bouts with my other games. I find I enjoy it especially in a certain mood. It's slow pacedness can be engrossing at times because of it's plus sides. (By the way, check out Harry's review. It's a good one.) If we show interest in games like these that have potential as well as make our comments, the developers might be encouraged to make a sequel that implements the things that were missing to make it a fulfilling gaming experience the first time around. There's my last rant for the morning...man, I'm tired:P

regardless of whether the game is good or not, having the word "Matrix" in it, is undeniably its major selling point. You can be 100% sure that if its crap (i don't know, i haven't played it), Matrix fan peoples around the world will have been blinded to this fact...

Vicious_2003 Jun 30th, 2003 03:23 PM

I just checked out EGM's official review for the game. Appearently they thought the game was total crap so maybe im wrong. But i really really enjoyed the game, and yes of course the name Matrix helped sell it but still I thought it was good enough to earn those sails on merit. Guess I was wrong :disturb:

but is a game good when reviewer says so, when it makes lots of cash or when the person playing it enjoys it? (regardless of any other "factors" which may influence their decision.) Games shouldn't just be about which ones push the technology envelope or expectations of gameplay or concept: They're about having fun. Don't let a review influence your experience of a game you've already played, thats peer pressure. And if you secumb to PP, i'll be watching you. And i'll tell your mum that you've taken up smoking because of it
