|
GODDAMN!!! that looks sweet, since i dont have a GBA im getting that one
|
Sweet! I will most defiently have one, even though I already have a GBA. It looks like the classic GB, so I'll get one just to be nostalgic.

I too have a GBA... and this new version, the GBA SP, is basically an admittance by Nintendo that they naffed the first one up.
It's the same hardware in a new flip-top case... but They've added a backlight to the screen, and it has an in-built rechargeable battery which is good for 10 hours with backlight, and 18 without. One of my biggest complaints with GBA has been that you really do need perfect lighting conditions to even play the damn thing - Castlevania: Circle of the Moon was nearly damn unplayable due to the overly dark palette Konami chose. I wonder what Nintendo are going to do for those of us who bought GBA on day of release (like I did)... This is as much a smack in the face as Konami releasing MGS2: Substance is... I don't think it is right I should be expected to buy a product twice in order to get the 'fixed' version... Grrrr.... - S |
It's nothing extraordinary, really. There are good peripherals that you can buy to add "light" to your classic GBA - and you can even modify it with a perfect backlight that you can buy everywhere on the net.
And MGS: Substance is really not that different from the infamous VR missions disk... leaving aside the VR missions (and Sons Of Liberty, of course), I found the other stuff on the Xbox game far from being extraordinary. |

Yes Iguana, but the classic GBA retails for $70, the SP model will cost roughly $100 in U.S., and about $130 in Europe. And it's not impossible that the price of the classic GBA will drop before the release of the new version.
|
I kind of agree on Spank with this one; I've had my GBA for well over a year now, experiencing the same problems, and Nintendo only now decides to release the new model...just when I have hardly any money in my wallet. I was never too keen on modifying my current GBA, so the SP model does look rather interesting. (And the report does say that it is just as comfortable to play as the other gameboy models.)
Nintendo should at least offer those who already have the current GBA to trade it in as credit towards buying the new version, even if it was meant to only "complement" it. |

Man! and I just got the limited Platinum edition of GBA thinking it was the newest for longer than about a month. The credit idea would be awesome. |
I was planning to get one, hmmmm........this one looks like a small version of a Laptob. But I like the normal GBA. Still if my mind changes, I might as well get this one only.
|
i got some pics to compare the size!

It looks like the new GBA might be heavier.

And SSj, why dont you apply for it. The first interview in online. Give it a try. When yesterday I mentioned about GBA SP, everybody knew it and all of the employees were excited about it. Seems like this little baby is gonna sell extremely well. Just a feeling. |
makg, is there any way of reserving it on best buy?
