Oh I see. How come you only have 20,000 posts. You have so many members. I do not understand.

Because a lot of the members don't post at all and the ones that do are busy most of the time

Nope, that's not the reason. Next time don't try to give an answer if you don't remember what happened ;)
The main reason is that we had to switch from Ikonboard to VBulletin after the Ikonboard software crashed some months ago, so all posts were lost when we restarted the forums with the new software.
Also, we deleted a great amount of posts from the Other Consoles forum because there were some troubles with console wars :sarcasm:
These, especially the first one, reasons influenced much the posts count.

Check the posts count: it's not 20,000 posts, but more than 44,000. Where did you see that we have only 20,000 posts? Sorry, but I don't understand...:peoples:

You were talking about General Chat only, right? That's the only thing that makes sense to me.

I see... that's why I remember you were saying you were having troubles with the older forums when I first signed up. I think it was the first days you were starting the new forums, but at that time I didn't understand much about it :P

I was talkign about the Gen. Chat. I look at that more than total posts overall for some reason.

That's weird, because usually a forum with many different sections must be judged by the overall posts count, and not from the number of posts of a sinlge section. Anyway, I don't think the post count makes a great difference. There are forums with lots of posts, but 90% of them are just spammy messages that you wouldn't want to read :laugh:

Yes, but sometimes you want posts a little more relaxed. Some may consider them spam some may not. This is cause forums are suppose to be fun, informative and relaxing.

Of course posting should be relaxing, I'm not saying the opposite thing. For spam I don't mean funny posts in general, because forums are made to enjoy your stay and spend some time also talking about "silly" things.

haha, the memories, i remember all this... the switch when we all had to sign up again January 2002, and I probably started the whole console wars fight (whoops!) by suggesting a "other consoles" board.
