Xenogears
 

I agree, Xenogears is awesome. It's a very good game. Everyone I know that's played it loved it as well. I think the problem was that Squaresoft stopped making the game to soon, so no one was able to get it. 4 months ago, you could sell it on ebay for $75.00 and a lot more if it was new. There were just not enough copies of the game made. Now that they've started publishing it again, it may get popular yet. You never know :confused: .

I dont think xenogears is underrated.
Its gotten great reviews everywhere.
but it just wasnt played by enough people. people didnt care for it.
but for some reason, people are asking about it now...

Probably because of the hype that's slowly rising with Xenosaga. I think stuff like the graphics and length probably turned off most linear players though :o .

xeno was out b4 ff7 right b4 ff7 no one liked rpgs well not so many ppl thats why it didnt sell good but FF7 was game that put most of us in rpg ganer right think for little

The fact I don't know much about Xenogears depends on my impossibility to get a copy of the game :(

What?!!! BEFORE ff7?! You gotta be crazy man, no way in hell could xenogears have come out before FF7.
xenogears was released on 9/30/98 and FF7 came out on 8/31/97.

i dunno where you even heard this info, but it is dead wrong!

the best game, ever, well at least the best story in an rpg. Whoever played this will agree, that this game was one of the best and will always have a spot in our hearts no matter how much time passes... it was just so symbolic :)

Actually that might be a touch right if its is from the UK?
I'm not sure but I think it was FF7 which actually managed to hit off the RPG ganer here.
After FF7 was released here I think people started to realise how good RPGs can be

I think that is also why it can be so hard to get certain rpg games here in the UK because some companies still don't have that much faith if it will do well over here :o

Well, I'm not sure exactly what it's like in the UK, but RPGs have been popular over hear in the US of A since about Final Fantasy II/IV (SNES). Then they started getting even more popular with exceptional titles like Chrono Trigger and Final Fantasy III/VI. Final Fantasy VII just made the RPG genre go more mainstream.

Three things:

1. Xenogears is underated because of it's content. As you know, most gamers are kids and parents don't want their kids to be exposed to the kind of content that is present in Xenogears.

2. We sold the rights of Xenogears and Xenosaga to Namco and they're doing a great job with it, I got to play an incomplete version, and I can say without regret: So far, it's awesome!

3. Where in the HELL did you hear that Xenogears was a flop?

Ahh I want to play Xenogears myself, but I can't find it anywhere

Xenogears has lots to do with religion and all that and it wasnt taken lightly by the press.

You're gonna have to import it, which costs a lot, but it's well worth it, becuase Xenogears is an amazing game.

Xenogears was a flop, financially it sold less than a million copies and square didn't bother as much with it. It didn't advertise it enough, or let's just say not too many people heard of it. If they tried to advertise it better it would sell so much more b/c I'm seeing more and more people liking such genre.
