Final Fantasy XI Opening Movie: Wow
 
This is so late and I feel so stupid. During the summer of 2002, I bought the FFXI limited edition soundtrack which has a bonus DVD included. But, I couldn't watch the DVD since I didn't have a Japanese DVD player. So, I stashed it off somewhere and now, 2 years later, I found it again and just saw the opening movie of FFXI. It's amazing! The CG doesn't seem quite as brilliant as FFX, but it's still impressive nonetheless.

Has anyone else seen it? It's pretty cool. :)

ah yes... i've seen it, i believe (the one with the young boy and his sister, running from their city?). I've still got it saved on my HDD... it looks rather less impressive than I remember, but it still pretty cool. (Gotta love those cute Tarataru Black Mages ^_^)

Actually, the release of that movie was a godsend! The prologue ended up on (altered) on the blurb for my GCSE Graphics Project, and some shots were used on the packaging itself...

I think part of the problem in this video is the monsters though... they just look a bit craptacular really... That and the horrid Spirits Within style exclaimations. "This Waaayyyy!!!". please square-enix... find some decent voice talent for your games...

btw. for all those interested, RPGamer have the full thing up (7 mins) in DivX format or Quicktime depending on what you prefer. The prologue is even in English (with Japanese Subs):

I watched it a few times when I was logging on to FFXI. It was pretty awesome. Just have to get back on sometime and work on my elvaan.
