I’m Poor 11/26/02
All my life been po’
but it really don’t matter no mo’
cuz my electricity aint on
and my water faucet don’t flow, OH NO!
I roll outta my bed, water from the roof leaks on my dome
I’m sayin’ my shit so tore up, how exactly can I call it home?
I roam over to the mirror and practice my sickest voice
“Cough cough, hey boss what’s up? I really aint got a choice
I can’t come in, I’m sick” is the words I’m gonna say
hell if he aint caught on, his bad, it’s everyday
in my raggedy ass night shirt, take my ass down the hall
to use my neighbor’s phone, how else I’m gonna call?
This brotha aint got no cash, the government’s even on me
the bill collectors’ hasslin’, “He aint live here, this here is Bobby.”
Still go to my momma’s house once a week to do my laundry
at night I even here the rats chucklin’ it up
“That nigga, he aint shit”, “I heard he likes it up the butt!”
I WHAT?!... uh oh, oh... damn, not him again
the land lord again, oh Lord not him again
I dip out the back window down to the streets below
with some jacked up Fikes and some Ron-Johns apparel
my narrow, escape, every day I gotta make
so broke got candy on layaway, this here’s for money’s sake
can’t even afford to pay attention.... what? What was that?
Oh yea, my people, yal aint know!?
Damn man it aint easy bein po’....

Just a real stupid poem I wrote cuz Po' Folks by Nappy Roots was floatin around my head, bored in Algebra class... lol my first stab at a poem that is simply for entertainment value... hope it turned out aight... tell me what yal think :)

I liked some rhymes you put here and there, they give a sort of rhythm and and a "beat" to this poem. It's interesting to know that you have wrote in while in Algebra class ahaha it's entertaining for the reader too :laugh:

Yo thanx for the replies yal.. lol mixed reactions, I guess it was to be expected... this was just a stupid poem, if you go in expecting the usual enlightenment that I bestow I guess that's y it was a let down :-p but seriously, I do all my writing in Algebra class! lol thas where the words flow best, cuz usually my mind is free... damn that class is soooo boring/easy... so I jus chill and scribe a lil somethin... so yea, thank ya again :)
