New Computer
I'm about to get a new computer pc, and I'm goin to get pne in Costco. What brand do you recommend? Hewlett Packard, Sony, or Compaq? I'm was willing (sp?) to spend $1500 (without including tax yet until the checkout line).

Don't buy a brand name. Have one built.

I'm still in the doubt of building one of my own or just getting another VAIO or maybe a Dell, the problem right now is that I'm broke :B |
I have a Sony Vaio laptop which is defintley in the highest spec because it kicks azz and it was about the £1800 mark.
|
The Sony Vaio is the way to go if you are going to spend that much. I looked around at Best Buy today and those are about the same specs. I think it only came with 60 GB of Hard Drive space though. But I think for $200.00 more you could get 2-3x as much. Plus it comes with nice speakers and a cd burner.
Plus the 15 inch flatscreen is the best price out of the name brand ones. |
The latest specs I have seen form Sony in that price range are:
AMD Athlon XP 2800+ 512mb DDR RAM (Upgradable to 1024mb) 120gb HDD WINDOWS XP Ge Force 4 (Blood Advacne Pack???) CD-RW or DVD-RW 52x CD 1.44 mb Floppy |
I GOT IT! It was the HP media center one. The black one. I Got it l 2 week's ago Friday. I got it at Circuit City.
512 MB DDR RAM 147 GB of Space (could add more to 160) 2.66GHZ Pentium 4 GeForce 4 128 MB Video Card Sb Audigy Audio 9000 (sound card I think) Klipsch Lucasfilm THX Speakers with a freaken subwoofer (lolz) NEC 17' Monitor 50 CD-R cd'z (the computer was used for 2 days, not the speakers just the hard drive, so the subtracted $300 Total: $2,400 I didn't expect that I would get this computer actually. |
