FF1 had classes, not really a specifically named character.

I can't choose just one, I like all the female characters plus Cloud, Cecil, Kain, and Zidane.

I agree with all up until 6. At 6, I liked Shadow when I was younger, but that's because I was into ninja stuff back then. When I later played the game, Edgar became my favorite character. For 7, I liked Vincent, because his character was basically a message to tell you that love changes a lot of how we feel. For 8, I liked Irvine because of the incident where he was supposed to shoot the queen. He felt guilt, a feeling you hardly see in the Final Fantasy series, with the exception of Barret, but Barret more or less channeled his guilt into anger and hatred towards Shinra. For 9, I liked Steiner. He values chivalry and honor above all else, and is a natural leader and fighter. It was a close choice between him and Vivi though, because you have to just love Vivi. In Final Fantasy X, let's put it this way, I hated the game but I still played it because Auron's quotes brought chills down my spine. Like the scene when the monsters attacked and when he was going to fight one, he shook his sleeve off of his broken arm... That was a spine chilling cool scene. The scene where he was standing atop the Blitzball arena was cool as hell too. The flashback with Tidus' dad, all of his lines were great, he actually made me want to fight when he started shouting, "This is YOUR story, and you decide how it will end!" And you fight that woman.
