Game of the year?
 

As the topic suggests, what is your game of the year? All the big hitters and other games are now out and GOTY talks are probably going to start stirring up among the gaming community.

My game of the year is Bioshock. I play a crap ton of games every year and while I do eventually beat most of them. It takes a truly epic and amazing game to hook me nearly instantly and keep me going until the very end, and then I beat it again. Bioshock is that kind of game. I've already beat it twice before I got online with my 360 and now I'm beating it again and I'm not bored of it. The game is still truly amazing and everything a game should be. It's just absolutely amazing and everyone needs to play it. It's the kind of game that trumps a lot of games out there right now. Maybe I'll change my mind once I play Mass Effect but I still don't see it changing my opinion of Bioshock.

as much as i love Bioshock, my GOTY goes to Call of Duty 4. due to the fact that it has one of the deeper and most addicting multiplayer out there. :smirk:

I'm sure I'll like CoD4 since I'm a huge CoD fan but in my personal opinion I find it hard to put that game in as GOTY over something like Bioshock. I know it will get there by game play and multiplayer aspect merit alone but to me, it's another in a long line of war games, even as good as Infinity Ward makes them, I always sort of twinge a bit when a war game gets put into GOTY. Since it's a same experience as other war games, you get into a battlefield with soldiers and shoot a bunch of other guys.

I know I'm rambling but my point is, as awesome as the Call of Duty series is I find it hard to declare it on GOTY because it's another war game. I want stuff like Bioshock and Mass Effect to win more because it has more going for it in almost every category. If Bioshock doesn't win majority of GOTY awards (It has already from some places) then I do hope Call of Duty 4 kick Halo 3's ass and gets GOTY. Because if Halo 3 wins most GOTY awards, I'll lose it. XD

If CoD4 wins though, I won’t be mad. I’ve just personally pulled away from war games as the years go on. I don’t find myself as fascinated by them as I use too.
