Nameless Lands

Hold Infinity in the palm of your hand,
And Eternity in an hour
.

Human life is but a point of time.

PS: they're actually 3D images I made in Terragen, but the with editing in Photoshop I sort of obtained a painting effect :P

Great work. i like the colors you used on the second. Peaceful and serene. lovely! :)

Pu the Owl Sep 19th, 2006 10:47 PM

Thanks :)

Wow, very nice! I like the surreal and yet fantastical colors you used. The two images contrast each other which reminds me of a scene or a story unfolding. They look like they could be in an art gallery or an illustration for a childrens book (this is not a bad thing or meant as an offense). One question though: what is Terragen? Great work! :D

Terragen is a 3D terrain generator. It allows you to create very simple tridimensional landscapes that can also be used with other 3D or non-3D programs. It's very basic, so it requires less time, resources and efforts than a more complex 3D modeling software, as 3D Studio Max, Maya or Blender. Obviously, you can't do much with it, but since I'm using the terrains I create for pics that don't have to look tridimensional, it's ok. BTW, I did use Blender for the moon in the first one.

Oh, and I have another.

Miaow! Lovely lovely work. I especially like the last one there! They remind me of Alice (in Wonderland) and Lovecraft's writings on the dreamworld.

Thank you! Another time it'll be octopi instead of dandelions and cats!

Faile Sep 21st, 2006 03:42 PM

But dandelions and cats are lovely things too.

Pu the Owl Sep 21st, 2006 03:44 PM

Yes, they are! Lovely things, indeed! Not sure they like to be together though... maybe cats like dandelions, but do dandelions like cats?

The program sounds pretty cool...I may experiment around one day myself. :) I also really like the new one. I think I may like it more than the other two...like Faile said, it's very Alice in Wonderland-ish. Great job Panuru. :D

Thank you!

BTW, Terragen is freeware, so you can download and try it. It's very simple, you can have your renders ready in a few minutes. Some people make tons of them and use them without editing or anything, also in games. As I said, it's nothing professional, but it's fun and relaxing... Terragen is a bit like crosswords
