Terragen is a 3D terrain generator. It allows you to create very simple tridimensional landscapes that can also be used with other 3D or non-3D programs. It's very basic, so it requires less time, resources and efforts than a more complex 3D modeling software, as 3D Studio Max, Maya or Blender. Obviously, you can't do much with it, but since I'm using the terrains I create for pics that don't have to look tridimensional, it's ok. BTW, I did use Blender for the moon in the first one.

BTW, Terragen is freeware, so you can download and try it. It's very simple, you can have your renders ready in a few minutes. Some people make tons of them and use them without editing or anything, also in games. As I said, it's nothing professional, but it's fun and relaxing... Terragen is a bit like crosswords :laugh:
