Just places

Just photos of places I know, around here. Some of this and some of that. with a little of Photoshop. I love my camera. But she doesn't love me.

Oh, so pretty! I like them all but my favorites are the third and the fifth. I love the clouds and slightly overcast sky in the first picture...it really contrasts the orange/sunset color of the buildings and the black of the trees. But the orange-ish color scheme frightens me a bit because it reminds me of some of the nightmares I have on occasion (this is not offense towards your photo or your skills, okay?).

I love the lamps in the third picture and how they contrast with the green trees (the same goes for the intense pink-red wheel in the fourth pic). And the area looks so calming and serene. The final picture is beautiful because it's clean and the red flowers really pops out against the white background. Also, the tree and the window reminds me of a man and a woman...the tree is the man "courting" the window (the woman) with flowers...at least that's how I see it. :D

Did you take these pictures at different times of the day or did you alter the colors in photoshop? Also, are these areas close to your home or did you have to travel a few to reach them?

Very lovely pictures, do you mind if I save some of them?

I took the first and fourth on the same day. Then the second and last together, and the third on another day. But the time was almost the same for every of them. All these places are in the countryside around my hometown and it does take only a few moments to reach them by car. Italy is like that, you don't need much effort to find places like these everywhere, sometimes even in a big city center. It has many rural spots or views :heh:

Thank you for the nice comment! I like your way of seeing the one with the window, it's very romantic and poetic.

Of course you can save them if you want :)

They're very beautiful. I like the colour and rich tones of them, the feel of them. They seem rather fairytale like, but perhaps that is my childish eyes talking. What camera do you use? Is it a digi-slr? The detail and depth you're getting is amazing.

That's cool. I think the rural spots around Italy (or Europe in general) are much prettier than anything you'd find in the States...at least that's how I feel mainly because I've lived here all my life, hehe. Sorry for the questions but was there a reason why you chose these places or did you just randomly choose these because of their good composition?

Yes, Europe is beautiful. Maybe in the States the more breathtaking things too see are those created by Nature, while man created landscape elements are often "functional" rather than beautiful. Here man created elements have a different feel to them. The weight of tradition and history gives them a completely peculiar feeling, a sort of aura. I don't know if you get what I mean.

In cases like these, I just like the place and take a shot. In other case I look for something in particular or I have an idea in mind. But when you start with an idea in mind, finding the right spot or looking for the right elements is a lot more difficult and I'm often not very satisfied with the result.

Just drop in and say that I really like these photos as well as these rural places.
