The Dark Tower

Well, I actually don't read a lot, even though I LOVE to read, I just decide to waste my time watchign movies or playing video games than reading.

But anyhow, I was talking a couple of months ago with some dude about LOTR, and then he told me that I should read The Dark Tower if I had liked LOTR. So I kept it on my mind but never actually looked for it or anything.

Well, two weeks ago I saw in WAL-MART in the books' section
THE GUNSLINGER for less than 6 bucks. I finished it in a week, and then went to the mall and bought THE DRAWING OF THE THREE. I finished it 2 nights ago. Tomorrow I'm gonna buy THE WASTELANDS.

THE DARK TOWER, by STEPHEN KING, has to be the most bad ass series of books I have read so far, and being a LOTR fan, I have to admit that I like this books much better. The series consists of 7 books, but only 4 have been published so far, the fifth is coming out in november, and the last 2 come out next year.

Anyone that considers him or herself a reader, has heard of Stephen King, who is known by his horror books such as "IT", "The Shining" and "Pet Cementery" among many others. The thing is, that "The Dark Tower" is different from all those, since it's not horror genre, even though it's a hell of a thriller and it is very dark.

Well, honestly, I've thought that if a movie for this book were to be released, it would rock. The problem is, that it's actually seven books we're talking about, and each book on it's own has enough material to make a whole 3 hour movie, just like LOTR

So I sadly believe that a movie for this will never be released, since, if they made just one movie, or even a trilogy, it would suck since they would have to cut way too many things from it.

K, enough talk, I just wanted to share this with tohse who have not yet read these books, because I'm sure there's many ppl in trhis forum who have already read them, and I'm sure they'll agree with me. :D

So far, I've only read The Gunslinger (finished it last month), and am planning to get The Drawing of the Three soon. Unfortunately, I still got to wrap up some summer reading books for school, so it'll still be awhile yet before I get to read them. Definitley a good series though.
