Final Boss in Xenogears
 

This is a cry for help directed toward anyone who has finished this game . . .

The last boss in this game has me completely stuck! I know that there're different strategies with order of attacking the main and sub boss, but my ideas toward doing this aren't serving me too well so far.

Can anyone give me a hand?

It's been quite awhile for me since I finished Xenogears, so I don't really have any specific strategies remembered, but try this:

Just destroy all those orb things that are floating around, which will then strip down the final boss' techniques and features, thus making the boss not very difficult to beat. But as you may have already experienced, fighting the various attributes of the boss is a bit tough and tricky, so sacrifice your weaker characters in these battles (hell, even use Chu-Chu) and keep your best 3 guys in tip-top shape for the last battle.

Do your gears have the best that can be brought? Also make sure you destroy those orbs around him.

Oh, and don't use Fei in any of the orb battles until you destroyed all four of them.

I have a problem with how much damage my characters do though. It may be because their weapons aren't powerful enough, but only Fei and Citan are able to get any attack higher than 0 damage on Deus.

Also, can anyone explain reaching Infinity Level to me? I can get it with Fei every time by charging past Attack Level 3, but my other characters that can charge that high don't always get it every time I use the same method.

Infinity Level is when the Hyper Mode gets to 100%

And I think you should upgrade your gears if they're doing that much damage. O_o

I think Nelo's right in suggesting to upgrade your Gears; I bought the best possible engines and whatnot for most of my Gears before facing Deus. I'm not quite sure with the Infinity Level, but I do remember that it worked just as well for Citan and Bart as it did with Fei.

In my opinion it works better with Fei since in Xenogears; his hyper mode % is always at 99%

When it's at level 3 and you don't use your level 3 attacks I think it goes up.

Or it could just be a random chance thing. O_o
