The future of Kingdom Hearts...
As many probably figured (or indeed, read rumours and recent offical statements to the same effect), Kingdom Hearts 2 is on the way. Alledgedly set 1 year after the original, Sora looks older (and strangely darker and more scary) and is supported by a bunch of characters, new and old: (it'd be great if anyone could identify all of them... i'm assuming some are the strange peeps from the secret ending movie I never saw.)
check ign: https://ps2.ign.com/articles/451/451550p1.html Also, a GBA outing Kingdom Hearts: Chain of Memories has been announced. Obviously, the pretty 3D visuals are gone, and have been replaced with an isometric viewpoint and 2D sprites (which do at least look detailed, if perhaps a little colourful for some - KH was a suprisingly dark game in my opinion...). The gameplay is expected to be similar (with the same heros again). again, check ign: https://pocket.ign.com/articles/451/451555p1.html |
I hear that the guy who's holding the two key blades in the secret movie isn't anyone from the original, but he will play a major part in KH2. I hope Sora can use some cool key blades this time around. The ones in KH were stupid looking for the most part.

to be frank... why?
This game was terrible from the offset. It is one of the most childish RPGs ever and a sequel is just fantastic. |

I can't disagree more. I found the game to be cute, entertaining, but it had a commanding difficulty and immersive storyline to boot. Have you tried to beat the secret bosses (Sephiroth, Hercules, etc)? Let me tell you, no child can beat Sephiroth. Hell, it took me a good 5-6 tries to even get a little damage on him. The idea of a sequel to, IMHO, one of the greatest RPG, is almost orgasmic. I've seen some of the action figures of the new, darker Sora, and he just looks DAMN COOL. It's nice to see that the main character has grown up a little bit. GBA's Kingdom Hearts looks nice, but putting a great 3D game into sprites doesn't seem like such a good idea. Regardless, both games sound exciting ATM. I'm already watching the game closely on IGN:PS2, awaiting new trailers patiently. |
no actually considering the controls and gameplay were just basic and I just found the overall experience of the game boring - I got a good exchange at GAME though!
But seriously I couldn't disagree with you more. Disney charachters do not make this childish just the whole thing in its nutshell if they had made the gameplay, controls and even some of the sotryline better I may have been more interested but no I like disney chaahcters and htye do not appeal to me as 'childish' |
^ wow a child who does not like childish games (lol j/K)
to be frank argueing with you that the game was cool is childish because abviously you made up your mind no point in trying to change you mind also i hear that the true sequel to KH is the GBA game and the game coming out for ps2 is going to take up after were the GBA left off |

Childish is not a word that can be aimed at KH - no Siree. A very dark plot combined with some very challenging gameplay proved that the presentation was nothing more than a facade. Sure, seeing the Disney characters made me smile a lot, they brought back childhood memories and made me feel warm and fuzzy inside... but once I got into the game, there was no warmth or fuzziness. To those who believe KH is childish I say this - Grand Theft Auto is more childish! Don't believe me? I guarantee that a young child would find GTA easier to play than Kingdom Hearts. Hell, my 6 year old newphew can play Gran Turismo - does that mean that's a childish game? He can't play KH though... 'Nuff Said. I can't wait for KH2!!! Bring it on! - S |

on the contrair, i didnt get it a first for the same reason, but after playing the game is sweet. donald duck is the man (probably cause i like mages but still) besides, what game nowadays doent have simple controls? ff always has. |
there are a lot of hipocrits in this world if the controls are too hard they complain and now they are to basic maybe its just me but i prefer simple basic controls then having to hold six different buttons while pressing another one to do a basic attack go example T.R.A.O.D

One major thing that could be changed in KH2 is to have a party of more than three people. I can deal with only controlling SORA, but I at least want to have more than Donald and Goofy as permanent party members to choose from. I think Auron, Riku, Vincent, Cloud, and Squall would be a decent cast of possible party members.

|
For some reason when I checked the release date for the Japanese version, I saw "TBA 11/15/04." I wonder why it's "To be announced"?
I also checked for the "Kingdom Hearts: Chain of Memories" GBA game and the release date is supposed to be November 15 2004...so, do you think the release date for "Kingdom Hearts 2" isn't really November, instead it's for "Chain of Memories"? :( |
