Over here i got some beyond good and evil going on in the xbox, and some Madden 2k4 in the ps2..

Madden is alright, i dunno how this game sells so well..i'm not much of a fan with these games..i'm borrowing it from a friend btw,..for vf4 evo...i already miss that game. Madden is deep though, really deep..franchise modes and all sorts of crap..i just wish there was a season mode..if there is one i can't find it cause there's so many other modes.. :(

Beyond good and evil is getting the most attention now though..excellent game! I was going to get freedom fighters but best buy ran out! I found this one though so it's all good.

I've been playing river city ransom EX and medal of honor: infiltrator on GBA.
Then onimusha 3 and samurai warriors on ps2.
Close to beating onimusha 3 im just staying for the action since the story feels too hokey. I dont mind the time travel deal its just how people act it just feels over hammed and just silly. Eespecially that little snot henri, damn kid :P
Then samurai warriors is just perfect since i've been a long time player of dynasty warriors. But in the next entry they better overhaul it alot more, koei cant be doing this forever.

River city ransom EX is what i have been playing most, since i loved the original. This is just a excellent remake and still holds up.

Medal of honor: infiltrator is fun,but hard. i like the bird's eye view more compared to the last FPS gba venture. It starts out easy then gets harder with more enemies, tanks and grenades flying out of nowhere.

Right now Im working on Onimusha: Blade Worriors, .hack//Quarantine, and Final Fantasy X-2.

O:BW I've gotten all the levels, as far as I know anyway, and characters... just working on getting all the characters' weapons and costumes. Vary vary repetative.
.hack, well, not much to it, just playing it through... still at the beginning though. It dosent seem like its a vary interesting game, but it keeps me entertained -- goring around areas, killing monsters, getting nice rare items, yay.
And FFX-2... blah. Just gotta actually beat the end of it... start over, and try to get the 100%. This could go on forever... :disturb:

In between Revising for exams and watching anime, I've found time to play too much Unreal Tournament 2004 for the PC, mainly because there has been a whole load of Fan releases in the last two weeks or so. I'm playing a lot of the CBP (Community Bonus Pack) content in particular. Almost all the maps are constructed entirely from art assets created by the team - who of course, aren't paid for doing so. There is about 40 maps over two packs - about 600mb of content unzipped - covering a variety of themes that put even the retail maps to shame, and showing levels of creativity which are just... woah. One map (Reconstruct) has walls and floors which literally appear when you walk over or up to them. Great stuff. If you want some pretty pictures to look at - http://www.planetunreal.com/cbp/maps.htm

Aside from that, I've been playing Jailbreak for UT2004 a lot as well. The maps aren't anything special, but the whole "you die, you go to jail until someone frees you" gameplay is really, really fun. That game's directory now takes up 1/6th of my harddrive, with something like 200 maps. At £17.99, I think I got my value for money :D

As for PS2 games... I haven't touched my PS2 in quite a while. I may get FFX-2.. I may not. I'll certainly get MGS3 when thats out, but that's some way away...

yea, nightmare was a hard boss. heres a tip on the spider, equip alastor and a grenade gun. use your devil trigger, fly up "Air Raid" that the spider, if you run out of DT, use your gun to build up your DT, make sure you keep moving and dodging after each shoot. after its full use Air Raid again until that sucka dies.

here go to gamefaqs for some tips on how to stop nightmare..

Still playing Prince of Persia Sands of Time. I like the game, BUT, i must say i dont like the combat system. You work your way all the way to somewhere doing all kinds of jumps and stuff, and then you have to battle hordes of different enemies that just suffocate you and surround you, while you just have a few basic moves. Im at the point where you fight with the girl for the first time, and its getting me pretty tired of the game at this point. Getting whipped by all the enemies, and never even getting a chance to fight the Sand King, hmmm, not sure how much longer i will mess with it, but if youve got any suggestions, IM, let me know, the battle system has me pretty tired at this point...

i went back over to best buy and found a copy of Outlaw Volleyball for 9.99, so i went ahead and got it.

It's a pretty fun vball game, there's alot of different modes to mix up the gameplay..so it doesn't get boring..like hot potato; where the ball charges up the longer it's in play, and blows up after a set time like a bomb. Also if the ball hits the ground it plants a timebomb..there's casino rules where the longer the rally goes on the more money goes into a pot, it stops at 5$. Then whoever wins a set get's the money..whoever has the most money(not points) at the end of the game wins. There's sideout and rally rules the match setting change for every game in tour mode..which keeps things fresh.

Lots of characters..too many i think. Some are dumb..El Suave is cool though, and Summer too. :D That's the team i'm using..overall it's a pretty good game with custom soundtracks and xbox live capabilities. I'm trying to gradually unlock everything so when i get xboxlive in june i can play with everyone that has already beaten tour mode.

I also fixed my ps2 the other day by taking it apart and cleaning that little ring underneath the disc drive that all the cd's dvd's sit on. i was getting those dumb Disc read errors on everyhing except the silver ps2 games. Not anymore though thing is running like new..

goodman: Yeah the battle system is pretty repetative..that's one of the things they're changing for the sequel. I usually just try to mix things up by doing those sword lunges off the walls. Watch out for what's her name's arrows ..she killed me a few times. Also there's a few abilities he gains once you gain enough sand..one of them is that haste attack that kills everything on the screen.

No one but anime fans would know this, but I'm currently playing Japanese only PS2 game, Get Backers: Dakkanya Ura Shinjuku Saikyo Battle. It's a fighting/action-adventure game where you play as the main character(s) (you play as one person and later, your buddy joins you) and go through the levels to...retrieve stuff for the client. It's all in Japanese, so I have no idea what the plot is...but thanks to nice screens, I can kinda get the gist of it. :right: Too bad the graphics are terrible. :P For a PS2 game, I thought I was playing a port from PS1. :peoples: Also, the enemies are pretty weird/dumb too (giant bats and werewolves??) :heh:

Sad to say, I'm playing System Shock 2 again. It happens something like every nine months... At least I usually find a new and intriguing way to play through... (plus, I considered it a neccesity if i'm ever going to write a plot synopsis for Puppeteer (http://www.kupoartist.eclipse.co.uk/puppeteer))

Occasionally I'll dive into Unreal Tournament 2004. I also have the Thief 3 demo... I was never massively into Thief, but at least this new one seems mostly faithful. They didn't quite give us another Invisible War failure...

Well since I traded my slim PStwo back in (and got 3 games for it which are killzone, metroid prime 2 and baten kaitos.) for the curious I traded in my slim PStwo since it heated up like an oven, it sat on my shelf which was quite open which means air could circulate the system and all that. But it got real hot within 2 or 3 hours to play, I tried to remedy this by putting a fan behind it, still got real hot with the fan blowing behind it on full speed. So I got a older new ps2 (50001) version coming my way from ebay.

so im just playing baten kaitos for now.

I used the rifle on Cheif Mendez. He seemed to take alot more punishment than he did on normal. He's faster on pro mode too once he seperates from his legs, I was running around alot more..i used that explosive barrel and about 2 boxes of rifle ammo.

I finished up Pro Mode a few weeks ago, I don't know if it was standard with using the special costume but the merchant wouldn't sell me the tactical vest. made things a bit more..interesting towards the later part of the game.

The RPG elements of leveling up it brought to the table are fun, all the recruiting, interrogating and various other things on people in the city is a fun feature too, it's a nice game if you like this genre.

The game does a really good job of leading up to the events that take place in the movie. It shows the history of The Warriors, why Cleon and Vermin made the warrior gang. How Swan and Cowboy,Ajax , Cochise and Fox all join the warriors. They each had to go thru initiations, it's really well done/written into the story overall though.

SVC choas isn't as bad a game as many people make you believe IMO, ok it isn't by far the best 2d fighter on the ps2 BUT if you're into the genre it can be quite fun it's nowhere near balanced, it has the typical overpowered snk-style bosses, sever hitbox problems, rather strange hitpriorities and many other flaws. But this is the kind of game where it's all about fun and this can be quite fun plus it's cool to see the sf chars been done snk-style. Don't know about the lasting appeal though, I've played it only for about 1,5 hour or so.

Great fighting engine(as always) better graphics this is about the best it can get with the old arcadeboard they use. I like the striker thing being dropped and old school 3 vs 3 returned. I'm glad Joe Higashi is (still) in it, I like the overall cast. Move execution(input) seems a bit tighter than 2001, but still easy to pull off in heated battle(allthough some getting used to after 2001). Overall great game, if you're into 2-d get this!

Maybe it's too early for me to judge, so I'm going to continue playing for a little bit more. But personally.... I don't see what's so good about this game. (Maybe I have bad taste in games or something. I'm also starting to lose interest in videogames.... maybe that's it? *shrugs*)

Right now I'm playing Kingdom Hearts. (Big talk in the gaming community I suppose?) But right now it's another one of these games that I feel it's been overhyped. Maybe I'm not giving this game a fair chance because I'm only in wonderland. But at the moment, I am not feeling this game at all. It's like it's trying too hard to be Zelda so to speak. These controls.... meh, still trying to get use to this camera toggling.

You're not alone. "Kingdom Hearts" is one of those games that you either love or hate. If you suspect that you don't like it from the beginning, you probably won't like it in the end...at least that's what some people say.

Perhaps the game is a bit overhyped probably because the shocking realization that Disney and FF characters can and do mix well. While this may be it, I personally love the game to pieces. The story is wonderful...I especially love the important focus on the meaning and word "promise." The game made that word so much more powerful and meaningful that I get chills when I think of it. The game is just meaningful overall...near the end, there is such a cliched scene (When Sora is shutting the door on Riku and Mickey) that you'd think any gamer would just roll their eyes...yet, I couldn't help but feel such sorrow seeing it because of the silent meaningfulness of it.

There's also a real sense of purpose in the game - you really feel like a true hero trying to destroy evil. I know RPGs can make you feel this way, but "KH" is much shorter than RPGs and doesn't have many sidequests, so I can focus much better. Also, the characters have a really wonderful chemistry between them...Sora, Donald, and Goofy are so likeable. I loved how SquareEnix was able to give Donald, Goofy, and Mickey some dimension in their personalities; their cartoon personalities are so unlikeable sometimes and so 2-dimensional. But in the game, they feel real.

Overall the game is great, it made me laugh, cry, and cry some more. :shy: You should play a little further into the game and then determine if you really like it or hate it. :)

Playing Battlefront 2 at the moment, must say stunning visuals on this one! Possibly the best graphics I've seen on the ps2 so far, especially the second level in that "Rise of the empire" mission with all the beautiful flowers and surreal floating sphores quit mesmerizing indeed.

It was the first game i played on my ps1, so I dont really remember how to do everything in the game which makes it fun. Alright... so I've decided to play Kingdom Hearts a little more. Currently at Akrabah. (whatever) I'll admit it now. My views have changed substancially, but I'm still not hyped over the game like everyone else were. It's not Zelda or Ninja Gaiden, but it's no slouch either. (It's pretty fun for a genre that I don't care much for. It makes me want to play FFVIII again that's for sure.)

Main parts that're getting on my nerves is the Coliseium (sp?) where you choose to be timed. (Is that mandatory?) And the crackish mini game in the deep forest where you're collecting fruit.

Uhh... other than that.... this could possibly keep me occupied for a while.

Right now I'm playing MGS3 in which I'm at the alligator pond right after meeting EVA. Or what I like the call "the pond where I got dragged into the watery depths and made into an alligator chew toy, YAY!" that really, really sucked when that happened when I was at that location for the first time. XD
Also playing Xenosaga 2, going really slow with it because it's a game I require a bit of time set aside to play it so I haven't had that sort of time yet. I also might boot up The Suffering: Ties That Bind, haven't beaten that yet. Still playing my 360 as well but I wanted to give it a break and give my PS2 a go, haven't played my PS2 in a few months at least.

Tomb Raider: Legend kicks ass, I rented it for the 360 and took it back because I will buy it sometime in the future. I've also disliked the series since day one so it being like the original is nothing really awe inspiring to me. The game feels alot more loose, enjoyable and fun, they got rid of the grid system lining up a specific jump was irritating now I don't have to be SO precise about it. I understand this limitation of the days of 96 but I have no idea why they kept at it with Angel Of Darkness. Eidos giving the game to Crystal Dynamics was a good idea, Core just wasn't putting the game on the right track anymore, even to people who liked the series were displeased with the series right around when three came out, or so I heard.

Well as far as moves and stuff, it's pretty much the same...i didn't noticed any major differences from the 4, except one or 2 caracters that have something new ... Tekken 5 has a lot more caracters, quite a few are new ones, like Azuka, Raven, Lili, Wang, and a few others...and there's also this one part called Devil Within, where Jin becomes a devil for awhile and you have to go around killing bad guys before he turns into normal again, that seems pretty cool, plus it has some other features like costumizing the caracters and Theater that Tekken 4 doesn't have. Overall it is better, or at least more entertaining.

Cool, does the european release also includes the original Tekken 1,2 and 3? How is the speed? Cause I always thought Tekken 4 had this kind of strange slow-motion feel to it.

For me, when I played Tekken 5 about a year and a half ago at the press launch, it was far more akin to Tekken 3 and the PSX games than Tekken 4. Certainly, Namco were drilling in to us about how it was a return to the roots of the series rather than Tekken 4 which they saw as a more 'realistic' game, hence the slower speed.

As for your second question, 4 does seem kinda slow, compared to tekken 5...although i still think, contrary to what Faile said, tekken 5 is a bit slower than the 3rd. of all i still think the one i had more fun playing was tekken 3. I think the moves are lot faster than in 4 or 5.

You could be right. My memory of playing Tekken 3 is based on many lost hours an amazing eight years ago and I played Tekken 5 the day after a really bad breakup and remember very little, so it is all a bit jumbled. I had to have a look at my notes from the event to even remind myself what Tekken 5 was like.

Well, I'm not playing anything at the moment because the only game I really want to play at the moment is FFVIII. I won't be satisfied until I get that game back...... But the latest game that I rented from blockbuster was Onimusha: Dawn of Dreams... 1st impressions about it was, bleh.... Controls is taking a while for me to get use to... I guess it's because I was playing DMC3;SE before renting this game. But like I said, it's bleh at the moment because I'm in this picky mood to play FFVIII. Visually speaking, the game is prettiful though.

As far as Tekken 5 goes.... I didn't care much for it. I think it was the fact they changed Jin's move set altogether. Made him into a sucky fighter. The boss would have me looking stupid when he throws out a damn fireball, that drains almost half your energy............................ When I first played it in '97/'98, I didn't enjoy it because I never played RPGs before, so I was so utterly lost and confused. But, I finally fully played and finished the game last year, so my only advice for you is to just to stick it out despite the older graphics. And get used to using Materia, which is like the Junction system of FFVIII. The Materia system, which I found confusing at first, is incredibly addictive because with the right Materia and customizations to your weapon, your characters can become super powerful. :)

Playing "Castlevania: Curse of Darkness" right now. It's somewhat fun, somewhat not. :right:

I don't really consider cubes or whatever as hands to be cutting edge (nor do I like that chibi [I think that's the word] look), but nevertheless, I put the graphics aside and I am enjoying it a little bit. (I still like FFVIII better though) ^^

I took a break from it and decide to rent Kingdom Hearts 2. It was an experience. I just beat the game, and to be honest, I don't really have much of a problem with the game. Hell, I like this one better than the 1st, but that's just me. And I'm not that much of a fan of the series, so "shrugs"

You can also call me a cinematic freak. The little fighting sequence between Cloud and Sephiroth took the cake. The reaction commands were pretty nice, but they could've made it a little more challenging like the QTE's in Shenmue.

I know one thing is for sure. I am never entering that door that takes you to Xenmas again. As I am typing this right now, my 1st finger and middle finger is a little shaky because of that one attack Xenmas did with the thousand lasers and you're pressing the triangle and X buttons together rapidly.

Overall, the game was pretty good. I just didn't pay much attention to the story. (I never do in any games which is really a bad habit.)

As for my initial impressions of what I experianced up to that point; The bullet-time gameplay feature has been mimiced/improved apon in multiple games since Max Payne. This was the first game to get it right though, It draws alot of influence from John Woo films and Chow Yun Fat's gunplay style. There's nothing like diving into a room occupied with 5 guys taking them all out in slow motion, the aftermath of all the carnage is pretty sweet. I think it's going to be a pretty solid game, highly recommended for how inexpensive the 2 games are now.

I don't know which Guilty Gear I played, but I didn't really care much for it. I think know it was on the ps2 though. It was probably the controls then again it probably wasn't. Took a while for me to get use to. In order to face your opponent when your back is to them, you have to hit the L2 or R2 but.... not sure which one of those. But I did not like that at all. It didn't really light a spark for me for some odd reason, and I'm normally into the 2D fighters. (Marvel vs Capcom 2 and Capcom vs SNK2)

In any case, the game I'm playing at the moment is FFVIII. (Yay, I got it back) Currently on disc 1. Those are two amazing games you have right there, Beyond Good and Evil was amazing from start to finish and while I don't own it I enjoyed of what I played of Psychonauts when I rented it.

Yeah I know the games are supposed to be really great, I just never got the chance to play them at the time of their release. :P I hope I can find the time to play them soon. :)

Yeah Taki is one of my favorite characters...but for SC2, I preferred Talim...even though she's weak, her speed is much faster than Taki so she can dish out a series of whirlwind attacks. It's over like that. ;) I really like Sophitia in SC for the Dreamcast, but she's been really crappy lately and I don't like her little sister, Cassandra. :yuck:

I used Talim all the time too in Soul Calibur 2, her and Mitsurugi. Used Talim to beat weaponmaster mode, she is so quick,.her double crescent blades were the equivalent of Mitsurugi's Masamune. I haven't even tried her in SC3 yet, but i just bought it a month ago and stated playing ti alot lately.

I never used Taki because a buddy of mine uses her and we have had some of the closest matches Talim vs. Taki. The main reason i like Taki so much is her quick soul charge she does, amazing move. I love it how it's linked together with a string of attacks. I never knew what that did until i actually started practicing with her. Most surprising of all my friend never used the posession move, i need to show him this asap.

Soul calibur 3's A.I. seems a little bit tougher than it was in SC2, which is fun for playing the modes needed to unlock stuff.

more soul calibur 3, crap this game is tough! It is like the game got tougher just for me picking Taki, it just feels like that. I cannot reach Night Terror at all, Cervantes just goes crazy when i get to him. I need to try and get a ring out on him because there is seriously no other way to beat him, he is tougher than Abyss for some reason.

I finally got around to buying Tekken 5 and Soul Calibur lll, really like them so far. Tekken 5 is way better than 4, a lot faster and great music.
Haven't played them enough to tell anything more.

PS Eli tekken 5 does include Tekken 1,2 and 3. They're in the arcade history mode. :lick:

Yeah, I like it better than the tekken force mode in Tekken 4, more diverse, easier saving sytem. I'm really liking Tekken 5 so far, thought I'd spent the latter part of my time on SClll but I'm really starting to dig the fighting system they have in Tekken 5(and that for a 2d fighter-fanatic huh). Like the characters they added too, Bruce is a killer as is Feng. I hope they would just get rid of all those bears/panda's/wooden guys for a chance and include more realistic fighters.

Oh yeah Jinpachi is real pain in the ass, way too overpowered(that's also the reason why he's playable as a character, it would seriously the damage the balance).

PS Sorry I didn't see your reply earlier.

Right now I'm switching between God Hand (fantastic game, Clover Studio's makes another winner), Guitar Hero and the PS2 version of Viewtiful Joe.

Playing Onimusha: Dawn of Dreams. (Yes!! I am no longer bored.) I just got it in the mail today, so I can't really say much about it. The graphics are prettyful though. I'll get back to you on my 1st impressions, that is if anyone is interested. (I'm a little sleepy, so you may be waiting a bit...)

What do you like best about God Hand, it's been a while since I've seen such mixed reviews about a game and I try to figure it out.

I am currently in game limbo, awaiting the PS3 and not wanting to spend any money on other titles. So to pass time, I have began playing a free pc online game called Second Life. Its fun and passes the time well.

This will be good times for the next 10 days as I await Guild Wars Night Falls, which will release on the 27th i believe. This will then pass time until the release of the PS3.

spending my free time playing Bully. Great game, it's more focused than an expansive setting like GTA. So it benefits from the extra attention. The music is very unique as well, probably the best time i've spent with a game in awhile. The type of experiance that refreshes my faith in the industry and the innovators within in it.

I wanted to try out "Bully" as well since I've heard some good things about it but, alas, must wait till more free time.

F.E.A.R. on 360 Fantastic game the AI is some of the best I've seen in a game.

Oh and Berserker sorry about the late reply but I'll answer some things on Godhand for you. I personally think Godhand is a must-buy game, the game has mixed reviews true but from what I've seen most of them seem to be hung up on the graphics, difficulty or how the health system operates. The graphics aren't the most impressive thing on the block, but brawlers never really go for graphics it's all about breaking someone’s nose. The game is extremely difficult; devil may cry 3 levels of hard so if you enjoy a challenge you'll like what you find. The health system never refills from level to level, so going from stage 1 to 2 you'll have the same level of health, but if you die your health meter refills. A lot of people had a problem with this but I don't see the big deal, the point in the game is to not die, the less you die the more gold you get at the end of a level. It's just another challenge in the game, the developers never said this game would be easy or hold your hand, the first stage in the game can be extremely hard if you have no idea what your doing.

The combat in the game is extremely deep, on fighting game level but still simplified you can customize combos in your move set, set up your own special moves etc. If your a brawler/fighting game fan (which I've seen from your posts you are.) then I think you will enjoy this game, I've been playing brawlers and fighting games since around the age of five, this game is a good send back to those games. The asking price is only thirty dollars so all around I think it's a good deal for how fun the game is.
