FF7 Remake?

Anyone heard anything about the supposable remake for the Ps2?

From what I've found out, there's a movie sequel to the game called FF7:Advent Children.

But might as well ask about the remake of the game, see if anyone's heard anything bout it.

There were unconfirmed rumours about FF7 through 9 remakes early in the PS2 life... I think its pretty safe to rule out a PS2 version of any of the PS1 FFs, though I think there may be a chance of a PSP version of one of the games (and theoretically, they could make a super-pretty version with the hardware of that system...)

Otherwise, there are 3 FF7-Related products set to be released somewhere in the world this year. The FF movie-only sequel, Advent Children will see not only a traditional world-wide DVD release, but Sony have also confirmed that the movie will be distributed in UMD format - the (physically and technologically) small disc format that the PSP will use. Not only that but a Final Fantasy VII Prequel is in development. No, don't get too excited - it'll take the form of some kind of Mobile Phone game for "PCS Phone" platform. Called "Before Crisis: Final Fantasy VII", the game is set 6 years before the original and stars the Turks. It has not been confirmed for release outside of Japan, so don't get your hopes up... if the prospect of such an inevitably simple game is THAT exciting :)
