i wasnt sure which forum to put this in. does anyone know how to make avatars? cause i cant seem to find one of the person i want. please respond in this thread or just pm me, thanx!!!

First of all you need an image editing program and an image you'd like to use. If you have both, you just have to cut or resize the image till the size is 64x64 pixels. Then you go to your control panel, edit options and upload the avatar from your hard disk.

You mean we don't need to find the space to host the avatar as it happens for banners in signatures?

All you need is, as I said, the pic and the program for image editing. The way you can make the avatar depends on which program you want to use. But in general each reliable program for image editing has a resize or cut/paste command.
