View Full Version : Playsation 2.5 and the PSP (Is Sony bent on putting Nintendo out of buisness)

Sony has revealed that a crossover console to the Playsation 2 will be released later this year. Dubbed the Playstation 2.5 and hailing the logo PSX it will read DVD-Rs as well as record them to its 120gig HDD. Sony have also announced that they are definitley putting the "cell" processor in the PS3 spending $1.6billion dollars on it. For the full story and images go here:

Earlier this month Sony also revealed plans to release a handeld console to go head to head with nintendos game boy (advance sp is the latest model released) Full story beyond the link:

The only other two major news developments in the gaming industry is the launch of the limited edition green x-box by microsoft to match sonys and nintendos coloured gamecubes. But did it come out too late? Also its goodbye Infogrames as they ditch their armadillo and go retro.

So what do you people think of all this. Is Sony taking one step too far or iks it a good idea?
