Star wars: Galaxies.

Any one getting this MMORPG, it looks awsome from the pics ive seen, two thing, do you have to pay (monthly fee)? And when is it coming out? I think I will get the xbox version with the comunicator, but is also coming out on ps2 online I think and of cousre PC, what does anyone else think of what theve seen of this game!

I know what you mean plenty of star war games are piling out, but this one looks the best.

Well, I read it in a magazine, that is was coming out for ps2, xbox and PC!

if it doesn't charge a monthly fee, it'll go bust after a few months. its a fact of life that the many servers just have to be maintained and updated. So yes monthly fee. Don't know enough about the game to tell you how much that fee is, but there will be one. As far as platforms go, i've heard of it being those three, presumeably with all platforms interatcing with each other (meaning that the x-box's "broadband only" ideal is rendered useless) ... personally though, I'll only be interested in this game if someone who honestly doesn't care for Star Wars recommends it to me. Every preview i've ever seen has said "oooh you can be a wookie!" and frankly, I don't care if I can be a walking carpet. I want to know what the game is actually like.

Ive just found out, that ps2 isnt getting SW galxies, its coming out on the ps3 (long wait), its only coming out on xbox and PC for now.

I agree with Artist, because a lot of Star Wars games have come out that my Star Wars Fan Friends have said, "This game rocks, you can fight as Vader!!" I play the game, and it sucks, really bad too.

But I've heard this game is going to rock for all users.

yes... the thing I have trouble with is that despite the fact that its a very promising game, previews seem to only touch on the "great" elements that aren't of the "ooh look - darth vader type"... I'll consider it for sure, but if its FF Vs Star Wars... thats tricky :/

... also, there is actually an offline Star Wars RPG being made by Bioware (Baldurs Gate / Neverwinter Nights)... thats supposed to be good as well... shame I never really liked Baldur's Gate...

I am excited about Galaxies... I think the other Star Wars RPG is KOTOR(knights of the old republic). Havent seen too much of it yet, but i am an SW nut so i am not sure if i can reccomend it for all audiences. Although i am unbiased... Most Starwars games DO suck.(unfortunatley:() KOTOR is on XBOX only as far as i know. I have all 3 next gens, and i am buying a new CPU ASAP, so no worries on whether or not i can play Galxies:)

The only thing I don't like about MMORPG's, are people who don't take the game seriously enough, and the people who take it too serious.

The one's that don't take it serious enough, will come in and play for two minutes, and when things don't go their way, all Hell breaks loose. "You're hacking!!! CheatAR!!! CHEEEEE-TA--R!!!"

I havent played online game's really except for live. on live im the quiet oneXD but usally when people kill me in unreal i get.

I read about it also in a PC magazine, so I assume that its not X-Box exclusive (and Bioware seem to be a PC company)... as for the 56k thing, I should actually get ADSL in my area fairly soon (its like 19th on the exchanges that are close to getting ADSL)

my own experience of MMORPGs are kind of limited, but it seems that fame comes at a price - in Ragnarok Online, a Trader known as "Joe the Dude" constantly got bothered wherever he went (abuse etc.), which would have been worse had PKing been available. A Shame really... he was a dude (I even took a screenshot when I found him in one town... true he was idleing, but what the hey :laugh: ).

This kind of shows that if you take it all too seriously (ie. making fan sites and having fun in some cases, which is a shame really), you face the consequences of complete *******s heckling you in the streets. If you don't take it too seriously (ie. if your one of those who heckles), you're likely to get harrased by fanboys and girls.

the MMORPG: its a viscous circle.

I'm like the other trunks. I am a Star Wars fan, but I believe all the ones up until this one aren't really all that great. Though my younger brother wants to get one of tham and I said, "I don't see why you'd want to get it.", and he said, "Why not? You get to play as Bobafet. well, I told him that doesn't mak ea difference it doesn't look like a great game.
