not anybody likes RPGs because they have precise rules, like turns in battles or getting certain types of items or earning points to go on during the game etc etc...

Is there anything you can't stand about RPG genre and you'd like to change?

The question is not easy, being RPGs very different, but they have some points in common, so you can say your opinion.

As one of the largest fans of Rpgs and FF, I have noticed one major problem that seems to be getting better. In previous Rpgs, the frequency of random battles got a little annoying. There was so many battles that I could get bored in twenty minutes of playing.

Get in a battle
Walk a couple of steps
Get in another battle
And so on...

It sometimes makes a diehard Rpg fan like me stop playing games for long periods of time.

Mourdor, the game that happened to me the most on was FFIX, i was getting so annoyed and started to get very hot with angar.

That is definately something i would change in RPG's, i read that FFX has sorted this sort of thing out.

Random battles can be a real pain. They should put in an option which allows you to turn them on or off when you want too.

I hate it when the game is nearly impossible and goes on forever.
For example IceWind Dale for the PC i bought it and i find its impossible to complete im stuck about 10 mins into the game and i could never get passed it and in a walkthrough the game was meant to get even harder :(
And i dont like controlling more than 1 charicter.

Well The Thing I Love Is That U Control More Then One Character.... Just My Thing! I Just Love It!. But I Have Mentioned This Before Too.....!..... And Will Mention It Again!.! That When U Are In A Battle.....!.....U Take These "Stupid" Turns To Hit Each Other!.! My God..Thats Soo Sad And Well....I Dunno..Very Very Stupid! (My Opinion) I Mean I Know Its An RPG Style, But Still...I Mean Common!!!......Dont Change Anything In An RPG But Change That "TURN By TURN" Hitting Each Other!.! Then It Would Be AMAZING!.!

U Guys Have to Agree.....I Mean.....Taking Turns To Hit Each Other!!.!! Thats So NOT REAL (Even If We Are In Fantasy World)How Can U Even Buy Something Like That!

Actually, I like the turn-based battles. There are RPGs that aren't like that, Vagrant Story, Zelda (even though it's not technically an RPG but it really is;).) However, I've found these games hardly playable! I don't know. I find the run up, hit, run away, turn around, attack thing to be very tedious. It's al MO though.:)

I don't dig random battles at all . . . they just slow things down too much.
And also having to level up or get in a lot of battles before a boss fight to become stronger is really bad too.
Those are probably the two main factors that make me stop playing an RPG.

i agree with jenova_jeb, i like turn based battles. return to krondor is turn based and hasn't got that many random battles. i loved it but some people say it was boring! i can't believe how they could this.
