1) You can't catch up to the ****sucker since he's in a phoenix or sabre or whatever and the rockstar programmers have you in a sentinel.

2) It's pure luck. Be prepared to buy a new controller after you throw yours out the window a couple of times.

3) Send an email to rockstar asking them politely to take the programmer who lead the work on this mission and shoot him out behind the studio. He needs to be put out of his and the players' misery for future GTA endeavors.

4) ..I don't know what the hell you're thinking, Andi.. but apparently you haven't played this mission yet. You stop and get a fast car (if you can even find one) and this bastard will have you in the dust. Even in the official strat guide (finally opened it. *gasp!*) it says just keep your foot on the gas and HOPE he skids out or the cops slow him down.

Personally I'd like it if at the end of the race there were an option not even to hire him.. just take out a python and blow his neurotic head off.

The Driver has got to be one of the most frustrating missions ever. I've yet to beat it (10 tries and counting). I almost had him once, he skidded out really bad on one of the turns giving me a nice lead. All was going smoothly until just before the one of the last checkpoints, three cops rammed me and flipped my car :frust: ......and yes Blackthornn....my controller took abuse after that :laugh:

It's awhile into the game

When you buy the Malibu Club

And yeah Andi, obviousley you didn't play this mission. You can't get a new car or shoot the guy cause his car is indestructible

I tried finding the route and waiting at a turn with a car roadblock and a rocket launcher for his chump ass. The dude went threw the roadblock and I couldn't blow him up.........WHAT THE FFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFF

I can't beat this board and I have no more misssions left accept to continue with this

Well, I guess I was one of the lucky ones on this mission...first try. Right after I hit the certain checkpoint which puts the police on your ass for street racing, I was probably one and a half car lengths behind Hilary. Two checkpoints later, a cop came flying from the side slamming into hilary, causing both cars to slide in different directions, while I just went between the wrecks...Hilary never caught back up.

Go team...

Oh, and I'm 56% done, but I'm pretty much out of stuff to do, minus the hidden packages, Pizza boy missions and street races.:peoples:

Yeah, this mission was really a b*tch, took me about 20 times to finally pass it. But, like BlackThornn said, it really depends on your luck, but the best strategy I found was: just as Hilary is ready to turn, run into him to push him off course, then use him to skid into the path you're suppose to go.

Bwahaha! Me too Sleazy. :laugh:

The key I found was on the first turn of the race, try and clip his left side to make him skid out.. then rely on your driving skills and don't skid out yourself. With a stroke of luck you'll get through it. :D

A Friend of mine was doing an easy mission over and over again and couldn't beat it. The problem was he kept doing it the one way he thought would work. I showed him a different way and he was like...awwwww man!!

and I was like...duh!

Moral of the story is: If at first you don't suceed...do it DIFFERENT.

I'm over like 68% of the bloody game done-I just did a mission where I saw the credits and I've done practically every race and side mission-WHAT THE HELL-I swear I need to beat this thing!!!!!!!!!!

That bastard was simple when you think about it. DO NOT TURN OFF THE WANTED LEVEL-Hell boost it up. There's only two defenite chances you have to blowing past him.

Those two chances appear at T intersections where two police cars collide in front on you. What you need to do is keep with him for those parts, and keep you eyes peeled. It works and you just have to scout what intersections they are. TRUST ME-IT WORKS

Congrats on beating him, man. :) I actually didn't think that boosting your wanted level would help, since that T intersection that you mentioned didn't really do much for me...he was always able to avoid it, the bastard. :disturb:

1. Like BlackThornn said. Try to bump his bottom left or right to make him skid when u have a chance.
2. Remember where each check point and two policecars crashing to avoid.
3. You can park a car before the race begin and it won't disappear. The key is to park far enough from the start grid, but not too far to make it disappear. (i.e. I park a trashmaster or any car around the police station in the first right turn to block his lane. This can slow him down, but can't stop him.)
4. Take a lot of lucks before u race.

The easiest way to do this is to clip him on the first corner(the one by the clothes store) He was so easy to beat after that.......plus if you screw up he probably wont catch up till u end up smashing up lots.........Another good way I found Is if he still doesn't give up after that corner u clipped him on......get ahead of him...get out of the car and shoot his tires with a sniper rifle...............easy as hell after this!!!!!

this is how did it to help any one was stuck on
keep behind hillary until u get to the cloths shop on the corner ram him so he is still driving into the shop block him get out, then i pepperd his tyres with my M16 get back in your car and he will never catch up now hes got burst tyres just take your time GOODLUCK!!
i laughed in the next mission when hillary got shot dead:laugh:

I havent played Vice City as much as I did when it first came out.

Took me about 5 times to complete it. Lance is easy enough to kill. The KEY though (for me) was when coming back down to face Sonny and his thugs don't go for the office...

Come out on the top level (of main room) shoot a couple of the thugs from there... the cinematic plays, then just start lobbing grenades over the railing... takes about 5 grenades and you are done. Or Sonny is anyway....

I tried crankin my level wanted up before starting and it did help, but he blew past me right b4 last checkpoint! I will try dan da man's tire shooting strategy next...

I am gonna shoot that guy myself in the next mission like someone else said on here. Neurotic weirdo... Why do I need him anyway if I can outdrive him?! :P

U dont need him for anything but its just one of those missions that you must complete to get the next job, The funny thing is after you beat him and then you go to your next job you end up driving and he is a passenger. But he does drive the car around waiting on you and then he dies. sorry to spoil it for anyone but I thoght that it was funny
