PS2 Load Up Problems

i have a problem with my ps2...this is it:-

i put the disk in and the tray closes......it goes to the loading screen where u have the memory card etc.....then it stays like that for about 5 minutes before it even starts to read the disk....then it loads.

i have had 2 ps2's and the first one i returned because of this same problem, and now that my waranty has run out the proble has reoccured, and i cant return it.......has ne one else had this same problem, and if so how can i fix it, or even prevent it happening again?

Have you tried cleaning the lens? That may solve the problem.

Tear it open with a hammer, find the lens, and pour gravy on it.
