-ffx strategy guide
-onimusha strategy guide

total: $360 (tax included)

Pretty nice starting kit huh?
I started onimusha first cause I heard it was fairly short... and ffx is quiet the opposite... they both ARE good games and satisfies me alot!

I congratulate you :) Pretty nice games you got there, and it was a great deal. However, I highly recommend you leave the strategy guides for later. finish the games by yourself and discover all the secrets you can by yourself. It is just pointless and stupid to finish a game with a strategy guide. But it's tite when you use it after having tried a lot and when you want to "kill" the game, by then, use it. Well, at least that's my recommendation :)

But to tell you the truth, both games are damn short. Of course Onimusha is way too short, but so is FFX for being a RPG, which disappointed me a little. And hell, yeah, definitely a must have is MGS2, it is just way too good, yet too short as well :( And I do recommend Devil May Cry for a future buy, if you liked Onimusha :D

I suggest you try to keep your PS2 Library free from repetativeness (spel). What I'm trying to say is don't buy all RPG or all FPS. Try to get different types of games. So far all I got is GT3 (Racing) and MGS2 (Action). Both great games!

What types of game I want next: Baseball Game (Don't know yet)
Survival Horror (SH2)
FPS (Red Fraction/MOH)
Criminal Game (GTA3/State of Emergency)
RPG (Don't know yet)

And forget about Stategy Guides. Just get the walkthroughs online!

cool...
i would get mgs2 but i already beat it at friend's house
with the strategy guides, i use them only whe im stuck, so i dont have to kill my self... isn't fffx almost unbeatable w/o strat guide?

i always like my handy reference =)

Bah! Who needs guides?!
I just got my PS2 last week along with 'Drakan: The Ancient's Gate'. I am /super/ pleased with my console as well, DVD player included! (Except for those darned WideScreen movies, how I hate them so!)
Congrats.

Gadzoox is right man i beat mgs2 on hard mode without the strategy guide, and medal of hono rfrontline without a strategy guide and i am about to get done with grand theft auto 3 fo rthe second time runnin, half way through half life, no clue where i am in red faction, and i am about 1/15 through FFX, you don't need strategy guides fo rall these games man, your not a hardcore gamer if yo uuse strategy guides.

Geez, actually Final Fantasy games are way too easy to beat. It only takes time to beat them. You'll need the strategy guide if you actually want todiscover all of the secrets it has, but not actually to beat the game. Don't be a sissy and beat it by urself ;) Then use the strategy guide. Well, that's my opinion of course :D

I mostly use the guides after i have completed the game , for all the sidequests and some key items that i may of missed. and on hard bosses when i need tips :P
