i heard there was going to be a playstation 3 comming fall 03 and its gonna have 2.4 ghz processor and dvd recorder...sorry i wasted your time guys :P

I heard some rumors about it... Somethin' called "Cell", I think.

The PS3 is scheduled to be finished with development by 2005, released by 2007. It's processor us rumored to use multi-chip disbursment (I think that's what it is called) and have processing power over 1000 times that of the Playstation 2. The new "chip" under development by Toshiba, IBM, and Sony jointly is called "The Cell". The PS3 is assumed to be backwards compatible with past Playstations and have an uncoded DVD player built in either in addition to the one that plays Playstation discs or one that is compatible with all. It's said to be based heavily on fiber optic technology as well.

Note that these are mostly rumors, if you want something more cocrete try the forums of sites like Neoseeker. The General PS2 chat forum has a thread filled with PS3 info. Either that or try an internet search engine.

The rumor that the PS3 was going to come out in 2003-04 was outright false, started on the internet by disgruntled sega fans and probably die-hard Microsoft fans wanting to discredit the PS2 by word-of-type. It is untrue to say the least, despite being all but promoted by Microsoft statements until Sony officially said otherwise.
